This is one of the more unique/bizarre mileage promos out there.

Schedule and show up for a free hair-loss consultation by 08/25 and you’ll get 20,000 free Delta Skymiles!

Over at flyertalk even men and women with a full head of hair have been doing this as a “preventative consultation,” or because of a “family history of hair loss.”

If anyone does this please be sure to come back and share the details!

If you actually do have a procedure done you can earn an additional 150K Skymiles.

If i apply for a business credit card for a wife (different Social but same Fed ID number) on Citibank AAdvatage, do i have to wait to apply for myself or is it totally separate?

tzvi

just signed up. Will let you know.

hendel

i applied in new york. i hope that they have availability. they probably have no clue as to why they are being bombarded with so many requests recently!!!!

hendel

they called me up today. i set up an appointment in manhattan on thursday. they told me that it is a half an hour. what do i tell them when i show up and the see that i B”H have all my hair? do i tell them that i am not interested and am doing it only for the miles??

charlesthegovenor

Just made my appt in milwauke wi.

AJ

WASHINGTON DC , IS THE CLOSEST BOO HOO, but i guess ill travel 2 hours for 20,000 points,
they also promise on the website that they will not harrass or agressively sell you on the product

to Hendel

Just say your family has a history of hair loss and you want to prevent it!!

Wheres your Gemoroh Kop?

Me

Just finished my consult it went fine no hard core preassure to sign. I gave them my delta mileage account number and they said the points will be added. I came 10 minuted late due to traffic (a given in Los Angeles) and was out in 15 minutes.

Tzvi

I just got back.

the whole thing ten minutes. Everything that “Me” said above is accurate. Now let’s see the miles transfer.

ok it was weird the guy saw me and basically said i dont want to waste your time, so i asked him about what they do and said i have a family history of hair loss, and i saw an offer online to come in for a free consultation , he didnt say anything about the miles,i mentioned that there was some sort of free points/ miles offer, does anyone know how they will do it, does it go through corporate, they didnt ask me to confirm my mileage number or anything although i gave it to them upon signing up online, how do they verify i went, i mean i didnt get any paper work , other then a questionarre, can anyone fill in what happens as it goes?

hendel

just got back from one this afternoon. i waited in the waiting room for about 25 minutes, and was then called in for a consultation. the consultant was very polite. the consultant began with a smile “i won’t ask you why you came in today”, to which i smiled and said “the miles”. then for the next 10-15 minutes, she went on to explain what they do, and how to prevent hair loss. overall a pleasant experience.

can u get double the points if u go to more than one location for a consultation?

Joe

The whole thing took about an hour. Like Hendel, I waited for about 25 minutes in the lobby and then did the consultation. There was absolutely no commitment or pressure. They didnt even ask why we were there! Thanks for the heads up dan.

WENT FOR CONSULT ON AUG. 22–NO PRESSURE,ESPECIALLY AT THE BOTTOM LINE (COST APPOX $16,000 FOR PROCEDURE!)–FIRST YOU SPEAK TO THE ‘COUNSELOR’ THEN YOU COULD GO TO THE NEXT STEP AND MEET THE DOCTOR, WHICH I DECLINED,SAYING THAT I WILL DISCUSS IT WITH MY WIFE. WHOLE THING,AFTER WAITING AROUND 15 MINUTES, TOOK ANOTHER TWENTY. I WALKD OUT SMUGLY THINKING I MADE A QUICK 20K POINTS—–BUT WHERN I CHECKED THE MAIL AFTER SHABBOS I OPENED THE INFO PACKET THEY SENT ME AND STARTED TO HAVE DOUBTS ABOUT IF I WILL GET THE POINTS AFTER ALL–YOU SEE, IN THE LETTER IT STATES THAT FIRST YOU CONSULT WITH A COUNSELOR BUT THEN YOU HAVE AN “INITIAL CONSULTATION” (QUOTES MINE) WITH THEIR PHYSICIAN….BECAUSE I NEVER WENT ON TO THAT NEXT STEP IT’S POSSIBLE THEY WILL DENY ME THE POINTS—BOTTOM LINE: ANYONE GOING IN ON AUG 25–LAST DAY OF THE OFFER—MAKE SURE TO CLARIFY IF JUST CONSULTING WITH A “COUNSELOR” FULFILLS THE TERMS OF THE OFFER–

Went to consultation in Seattle 8/22/08. They seemed to know about the miles at the front desk and said the info should be given to the counselor. Not offered a consult with the doctor. Assured that I was not going bald even though my family had history of baldness. All were polite and when I asked the counselor about the Delta Miles offer he had the receptionist check to see if my miles # was in their computer from my online application for the consult and she assured him it was. Took under an hour all together with most of it being waiting. We were given pricing info in a folder and were on our way. I think it is common for this to now be a 2 to 3 month wait for the miles to appear, right?

ds

I did it today in NY very quick entire thing 45 min
they did not even offer me to see DR.
very nice guy THEY KNOW that we are coming for the miles…
Thanks dan for the heads up!

@ds:
Lol-I guess they’re onto us!

yosef

I signed up for it yesterday, and i have an appointment for thursday, did anyone get mileage, or its still just speculation if it will work in the end?

Tzvi

Made an appointment for my wife today, but oh well…she won’t be able to make it in.

Isn’t it strange they didn’t want to see id?

You think I can go for my wife at a different location?

Dan/Ctownbochur

“Please allow 6-8 weeks after qualification for miles to post to your account.”

nate

ok, i missed the 25th, is there another chance to do this ? I have the 30 mins to spare for 20,000 miles. will this offer be extended ?

Pamela

Well, it looks like they got smart. Now it is 100K miles AFTER the procedure. Here is the text from their website — kudos to those who were quick movers!!

Obviously I have missed that and i wanted consultation for my wife. She has lost too much hair that she can’t show her head and she always hide her head in a veil.

Barb-a

We are still in a holding pattern waiting on the Delta Skymiles. We went on the last Friday it was available so it has been about 6 weeks. Has anyone received their miles yet? Please post if you have.
