I heard from a technician who was fixing our a/c that the nest takes a lot of voltage and ecobee is more worth it

get the non-color EMERSON SENSI thermostat — no c wire required
For $20 or so you can buy a c wire from Amazon.

The ecobee comes with an adapter for those that don’t have a c wire, it takes around 15 minutes to install and it’s quite easy to do.

The $4 for PSE&G came out to $17.89 after taxes and shipping. It’s still cheap, but not as low as you might have thought
NJNG has these for free again.
