Seeking to control the spread of coronavirus from NYC, Vice President Pence asked for anyone in the NYC metro area that has traveled or is traveling to self-isolate for 14 days,

“For anyone in the New York metropolitan area who has traveled, our task force is encouraging you to monitor your temperature, be sensitive to symptoms. And we are asking anyone who has traveled out of the New York City metropolitan area to anywhere else in the country to self isolate for 14 days.”

The 14 days should start from when you were last in the NYC metro area. NYC currently has 10 times the level of coronavirus infections than other areas of the country.

Remember folks, the best way for society to make it through COVID-19 with the lowest mortality rate is by staying at home.

You may be interested in the below.  I’ve contacted the Mayor’s office and 311.  We came from NY last week.  We’re in MY OWN condo hotel (ironically the Trump International!!).  We’re not allowed to fly based on the Governor’s directive.  In addition, during the current White House press conference,  Dr. Deborah Birx reiterated that anyone who travelled from NY to Florida MUST self quarantine in Florida.   Yet my family is being forced out.  How’s that possible? Hypocritical!

Please help.  I’ve sent this to the front desk.  Where are we supposed to go???

Good Evening:

I just tried booking flights back to NY for my family.

Received the below notice.  Will the hotel pay the fine and assure no jail???

My family needs to stay here.  Please make arrangments asap.

Florida Will Require Everyone From New York, New Jersey, And Connecticut, Including Past Travelers, To Self-Isolate For 14 Days

Today, Governor DeSantis said that he will sign another executive order that anyone who came from New York, New Jersey, And Connecticut in the past 3 weeks or anyone that comes from those states going forward will need to self-isolate for 14 days. You will also need to report who you had close contact with in the past 3 weeks.

Yesterday, Florida announced that they would require passengers from New York and New Jersey airports to self-isolate and quarantine themselves for 14 days.

That executive order can be found here and it also includes passengers from Connecticut. Florida has been enforcing that order with the National Guard at their airports. That order includes up to 60 days in prison and up to $500 in fines for violations and it calls for all of Florida’s law enforcement to see that the order is carried out.

Subject: Coronavirus displacement

Good Evening:

I am in North Miami Beach with my family.  We have been staying at a condo hotel unit that we OWN. We live in NY and are afraid of flying back.  We intended on staying here until it’s safe to fly.   We were notified today that we must leave by Saturday.  The Miami Dade website clearly says that this does not apply to

A: displaced lodgers

B: existing stays (only to new     “reservations “)

Please provide guidance as to what we can do as me tell the front desk .

Respectfully and thank you.

Eli

I manage units at the trump and also having these issues. Go to Miami dade website. It shows there that if guest can’t return home he’s considered essential traveler and can remain at the property. The issue is gil dezer is doing what he wants regardless!!

DR

why 14 days? this is all over on monday according to the president. 🙂

Nunu

If I had korona(the symptoms, not tested) last week why do I need to self quarantine for 14 days

Doc

you still have to quarantine for 14 days because you may have had symptoms that were not due to corona (since you werent tested) and may have the actual corona infection brewing in its incubation period

Nunu

Right, there’s another virus going around that has the same symptoms as corona that everybody in NY is getting

David

I’m, the flu!!

Morris

What do you do if you live in NY??

DoB

Please stay home.

Kidooo

Too little too late. They need to suspend all domestic travel asap. At this rate in 1-3 weeks the entire nation will have it

Srepw

Exactly. This is plain stupidity and incompetence.

Dovy

New Yorkers cannot follow rules. This is why they cant stop corona till they restrict all travel and even going out of the house. Yes I know some new yorkers can follow rules. But in general you guys dont follow rules. And for all of you not following rules, you have a hand in the deaths of other people.

Louis

Let’s be clear, it’s not New Yorkers, it’s certain communities within New York, that think they are immune to all rules, and apparently viruses!

Eli

Let’s be clear, you have no immunity to stupidity and hatred.

Srepw

This whole thing I being run extremely foolishly, and people will die because of it. The virus is spreading everywhere because we messed up and aren’t testing to find out where the spread is and then quarantine. The entire country will get infected G-D for is, and the healthcare system will be overwhelmed because it’s not being stopped.
Telling people who came from NY to guarantee is a sad joke when this is spreading everywhere. This is a disaster because of incompetence.

???

i agree, what they should be doing is mass testing so people who have it quarantine themselves and everybody else can live there life normally

testing when someone is sick and in the hospital is not gong to stop the spreading

Coronala

Can someone explain what included in self-isolation ? If I’m in (Orlando) with 2 kids. Do we just need to stay in the house? Can we still be all together? Can I take a walk just around the house?

Vana

It’s simple. Stay home. Whether you are in New York or New Jersey. This virus does not discriminate and if we want to have the most optimistic outcome, that’s what we ALL have to do. Living in a quiet NJ town, I’ve seen plenty of NY license plates recently. There are New Yorkers coming here thinking they are safer in their second homes. We love all Jews but you would be just as safe isolating yourself in your New York residence. All you are accomplishing by coming here is putting another New Jersey Jewish community at a much higher risk than they otherwise would have been.
Please think before you act.
