While I’m not sure if they’re legal or not, just the other day I got a ticket while having it on in my car.
(Yes, I know. If I had it on, why did I get a ticket? Well the point of these are to notify you of cops around. It is then your responsibility to act on that. It was that which I failed to do.)
Anyway, the cop gave me a ticket for speeding. I then asked him how he clocked me. He pointed to my radar detector and laughed, “yeah, I was shooting with laser, those aren’t fast enough to catch it.”
So the point is, I’m assuming that if it was illegal, he would’ve mentioned something to that effect.
