Welcome bonus terms:

You won’t get the welcome bonus on this card if you have or previously had this card. If you are not eligible for the bonus a pop-up will appear to let you know before you submit your application.

Card earnings:

This card won’t compete with the Citi Double Cash® Card, which earns 2% cash back everywhere for everyday purchases.

However the Blue Cash Everyday card has very good cashback categories for a card with no annual fee.

  • This card earns a 3% cash back at US supermarkets. That includes large chains and standalone grocery stores. There is a cap of $6,000 in annual spending for this bonus, so you can get up to $180 cash back annually on grocery shopping. After $6,000 spent at grocery stores you’ll earn 1% cash back.
  • You’ll get 2% cash back at US gas stations, with no cap.
  • You’ll get 2% cash back at select US department stores, with no cap. These include

Bealls, Belk, Bloomingdale’s, Bon Ton Stores, Boscov’s, Century 21 Department Stores, Dillard’s, J.C. Penney, Kohl’s, Lord & Taylor, Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Stein Mart.

You’ll get 1% cash back on everything else.

AMEX Offers:

Earn statement credits at websites and stores that you register for in your AMEX account.

Card convertibility:

You can convert this card to the Blue Cash Preferred Card with a $95 annual fee. That card earns 6% cash back at US supermarkets up to $6K, 3% cash back at US gas stations, and 1% cash back elsewhere.

Intro APR:

This card offers 0% intro APR on purchases for 15 months.

Does the trick of applying for 2 cards at same time for one pull work also with different companies like applying for this card and a chase flex at same time ?

Yossi

Are you eligible for the bonus if you are an authorized user with the second card on someone else’s account?

Seems like amex has clamped down with not allowing bonuses to many ppl. I havent had that many cards with them. and my friend with only 1 card is also disallowed any bonuses. Dan, any insight as to their criterion or any way around?

A little off topic, but wondering what CC you’d advise in my situation. I’m qualified for the Amex Plat special offer of 125K points after $5K spend. I can also get Chase Ink Pref @ 100K points. I’m a little hesitant to do the Amex Plat now b/c of annual fee and i won’t use any of the travel perks during COVID. I don’t like to apply for more than 1 card every 6 months or so.

Im getting denied for the bonus points, i have a few open amex that i rarely use, Anyone with experience what to do to b eligible for the welcome bonuses??

Bob

Got a mail offer for $225. Unless I’m missing something in the fine print that shows the offer to also be in the form of 20% off Amazon, it’s clearly the better offer, right? Especially as I have Prime Visa with 5%.

Dov

If I’m not interested in the travel benefits, what’s the better option: The AMEX or Citi Premier? I like the bonus, but with the groceries maxing out at $6k, is the annual fee after the first year worth it?

Dan, as a side note, I’ve had this card for a while and I now have an offer available for this and the Amex Platinum Business to spend $28k on a single purchase for a $14k MR bonus? Are they for real?

Work-for-ur-muny

Is it possible to convert this to a points card later on?

Aryeh

Hi Dan. Is there any newer posts for this card?
I don’t think these are the current signup bonuses.
I just got this card and would like updated info about card earnings and bonuses.
