These bonuses are valid if you already have the primary version of the card. You can add up to 99 additional users per card that you have.

When I added additional users it said that I would have to wait for a decision, however those users appeared in my AMEX account online the next day.

Even without supplying a social security number, an additional user account can show up on a credit report, which means that spending on the card can help or hurt the additional user’s credit score depending on the primary card’s credit utilization and payment history.
It says that cards will be cancelled within 60 days if a social security number isn’t provided, though I’ve never had that enforced on my additional user cards.
There is no hard pull for an additional card, even if you do supply a social security number.
An additional user card will also count against the user when applying for cards from Chase, which limit approvals for many of their cards if you have had more than 5 new accounts in the past 24 months. You can appeal that decision based on it being an authorized user account if you say that you don’t use it and aren’t responsible for payment on the card, but some have been turned down because of that approval guideline. It is possible to have the additional user account removed from the credit report by closing it and requesting removal from the bank and/or all 3 credit bureaus.
Allow 8-12 weeks for the bonus miles to post.

Was it officially announced? Where can I read the T&C? I tried adding cards several times with the link & it didn’t work. So I had them add additional cards via chat. Now I’m not sure I’ll get the bonus points.
I just chatted with Amex asking for the offer’s t&c to which she replied:
Solicited Platinum Card Members who add Additional Card Members to their account through this offer can earn 5,000 Membership Rewards points after $500 or more in eligible purchases are made by the each Additional Card Members on their Card within the first 3 months (92 days) of their Card Membership.
What I understand is that it was targeted. I wasn’t targeted & understand now that I won’t get those bonus points 🙁
Must the spend be on the new additional users card ? Or is the spend requirment on the account?
On the new additional user card, though the points all go to the primary member.
i did this for platinum 4 cards and gold 4 cards and got the points right away

Ok, I get the idea that these are easy to earn points, but is the reward really worth it? If getting the additional card on someone else’s account makes you ineligible for another account from Chase, that may offer way more than 5k/10k points, I think doing this additional card holder for points is totally not worth it. My spouse and I rather do individual accounts and get the big prize. Chase has this kind of promotion, but only requires that the AU, just use the card once. I’ll do Chase’s promos over this Amex promo.
So all it asks me is for a name, the DOB & SSN appear optional.

I’ve been targeted on the Honors Surpass card to add 4 more additional cardholders for 5000 points each. I just did this on the same card in August. Will they really give me points again? And do I need to add different people, or can I add the same family members?

I also added 4 users on each of my cards (at the time of the posting), and immediately did the spend on each. Oddly, I got some bonus awards but not others. All users were added together, but some worked and some didn’t
