I got the Marriott 100k bonus card approved and just finished spending but bonus points haven’t posted yet. Will having a SPG consumer card affect me (given I was approved before new policy but points should post after new policy)? Should I close SPG today? Thanks!

Shaul

Under the new rules, can you get an Amex bonus if you have no other cards, but have gotten the bonus once before in your “lifetime?”

Of all the American Express and chase Marriott credit cards available which one would be the best one to have? and if i would want to receive platinum thru spend would that make a difference?

DG

Dan — will there be an option to upgrade a current SPG personal card to the luxury card to carry over the spend so far this year and qualify for platinum?

Sf

I applied and got the pop up saying I’m not eligible for bonus. I called and spent an hour on phone being bounced around and they couldn’t give me a good answer why. Other than there are other factors like how many Amex cards. I only have 3 open right now. I don’t get it. Anything I can do?

michael namdar

have the same issure
their system is messed up.

DJE

So can one technically sign up for both a Chase Marriott card and an AMEX SPG card today and receive both bonuses?

Wander

+1
Can one do a triple dip today or tomorrow? Chase Marriott personal + business + Amex Luxury SPG?
(assuming of course under 5/24 and have room for another Amex card)

Naftali

Anyone notice this, when the new website launched it said platinum elite was eligible for rewardsplus and get United silver, and rewardsplus website was down till today, and now only platinum premier elite is eligible. I had asked before and got an email confirming platinum would get united silver

Guys Dan is sharing affiliated links that is giving you 75k bonus points but if you Google the card , the public offers are 100k points. So sad to see Dan selling out his readership for some commission. Just Google the card names yourself.

TK – just not true

Chris

Dan: Curious why you don’t report anything on the state of current Marriott/SPG integration… You’ve remained curiously silent… Any reason why or is Marriott now greasing palms?

Jelena

I’m confused and can’t find an answer. If I apply for a Chase biz card today, but don’t get approved until next week, does that prevent me from getting a sign up bonus on the Amex cards post 8/26?

TK

Wanted to see if Dan would censor me. He didn’t . Thanks for your honesty. Please stay that way. I was just testing you. I apologiz for that.

Eve

Does the Marriott biz card apply towards 5/24?

Shaindy mitnick

I have alot of american express platnium points… we r planning to -use them pesach time to go to israel on United airlines in business class.. whats the best way to go about this to get the most for my points? Also i have alot of spg points… we use mostly to stay at sheraton hotel once in awhile for a night or so.. what do i do now with these points that it merges with marriot?

netlevy

i have 2 businesses with 2 EIN# can i apply for the Starwood business under both businesses and get the bonus twice, or it goes by the account holder SSN?

Ralph

Dan did you decide if your gonna apply for it?

Mo K

May sound a bit random, but why the bashing on the point of the earnings of SPG cards … as long as you get a spg biz card you’re actually doing better all around then before and the program itself still works the same? the only negative is general spending, which although a loss isn’t a reason to totally jump ship on SPG? Thoughts dan?

Yossi

Given the lousy point to miles ration, is there a good reason for getting the card, if you don’t stay in hotles much?

Dan g

What time zone do the new rules begin? Is it too late not since it’s 12 am est?

good luck

don’t hold me resposible but i just applied at 12:18 for a dif amex and the denial letter was dated aug 25. so prob your good till at least 1am. amex is based on mountain time for most things so prob even till later.

Daniel Gittler

Thanks for response!

av

i have spg amex personal and business and applied for the luxury card and got approved before aug 26 will i get a bonus ? or once i got any bonus from amex i won’t get another even if its a diff card ?

Eric

My 100k upgrade offer expire in October, will this bypass the SPG/Marriott restriction if I wait until October to upgrade?

Menachem

Just for correction Chase Marriott biz the AF is 99 and u wrote 95

Pointers

Applied on 8/25 at 11:20 for the chase card. Seemingly the application didn’t process until 8/26 at 9:45. Was denied based on having the SPG luxury card, they said there was nothing that they can do to back track and attach the 75K to the application. 🙁

1. Is Marriott consumer card subject to 5/24 regardless of the changes?
2. If I had the SPG cards before, will I be able to get the new version bonuses? Will today be the last day for that?

Elki H

My current SPG business card just came up for renewal at $65.00. I am not interested in any new Marriott cards. My 3 pt conversion gave me plenty of pts. Do I just cancel it or renew for some sort of retention?

Miriam

Dan, i need to cancel a flight for tomorrow morning that was booked with SPG points. Any way to save the points? Help! Thanks! !

J

If I don’t merge my Marriott and SPG accounts, can they know and apply the chase restrictions?

Chay

I applied on Aug 21 but it said well let u know within 30 days. Got the card on Sept 3. Will I get the bonus?

Dan

I got a letter in the mail that I am not eligible for a bonus on the chase card even though I applied before the cut off.

What do you recommend I do?
