What you may not know:
-Changes to flights are $50 plus any difference in fare.
-ATA, often confused for the profitable Airtran, has emerged from bankruptcy largely due to its’ profitable codeshare agreement with Southwest.
-In bankruptcy ATA axed most of its’ flights, as well as it’s Indianapolis hub.
-ATA now flies primarily to cities that Southwest doesn’t want to go themselves, such as New York and Honolulu, so that Southwest can sell flights to these destinations on southwest.com through codesharing.
-ATA also offers service to Maui and Hilo from the US mainland, and is in fact the only carrier that currently provides nonstop service from the mainland to Hilo.

Do you know of any good digital camera deals?

Personal Experience on ATA:

I travelled on ATA from Minnesota to NY and back last year in the summer, it was a great experience, I got the seat i wanted and great service. Both flights left on time and arrived on time, and I didnt have any problems with luggage.

The worst flights I ever had were on AirTran (Spent the flight in the bathroom, because the seat I recieved was the wrong one, and DIDNT recieve any significant compensation, i got only 25 bucks), and US Airways (All six flights the luggage came a day or two late… and damaged…)

Anon #1-What kind of camera are you looking for?

Anon #2-Thanks for your experiences, although of course its not the greatest idea to judge an airline based on 1 experience. Anyway what do you mean you got the “wrong seat” on airtran?

Anon # 1 here. I need a compact camera that will take decent pics that can be blown up to 11*16 or bigger. I would like something with an image stabalizer. I don’t want to spend too much (not more than $300). Hope this is enough info. By the way, I’ve flown ATA twice and both times had good experiences.

Anon #2

being put into a seat with zero legroom and two fat people on both sides, even though i specifically requested a seat with legroom because i am tall, and they said i will get it. Since they only assign seats at check-in I came three (!) hours early and was one of the first one in line. And I still got a tiny seat. In general, they squeeze too many seats onto the plane, they should learn from Jet Blue.

Dan

I actually didnt go into legrooms too much on the roundup, altough i should have.
At any rate always check seatguru before you fly to know exactly which seats to request!

DONT FLY ATA!!!!
i just flew from lga to phx via chicago mkdtwn. it took us 22 hours!!!!!!
they blamed it on the weather which was takeh bad but they dealt with the whole sitch with COMPLETE INCOMPETENCE!! i will bli neder never fly with ata again.
(i flew on thurs aug 10 and the delays were not connected to the liquid bombs etc… it was crazy. the flight which was scheduled at 630 finally left lga at 2am!! so of course we missed our connection and they told us they would put us on the first flight out but our info wasnt there…. theyve lost our luggage…its a nightmare….
