American has insanely cheap $365 round-trip fares from Tel Aviv to JFK. These are “basic plus bag” fares with 1 free checked bag and free carry-ons. While American is no longer waiving change fees on basic economy fares originating in the US, basic economy fares originating outside of North or South America are still changeable for free.
Alternatively, you can book a main cabin fare for $415 round-trip. The main cabin fare allows free seat assignments and awards elite qualifying miles and dollars.
This fare is valid on most dates from May 7th through the end of scheduling next March. This post will be updated with sample dates. A Saturday night stay in the US is required.

Buy the child a seat and bring a carseat so that the baby will sleep, be safe, and you don’t need to hold it for 25 hours.
