Even some Iberia Prem Econ seats are available that are under $1K RT JFK-TLV – but I’m not familiar with Iberia planes or seats and I’m not on East coast.
But another reason to fly a day ahead and on an EU carrier, if an EU carrier flight crew is stuck in traffic and you wait on the Tarmac for a few hours it could be worth 600 euros if you arrive in TLV and delay is greater than 6 hours.
I am kicking my self for not booking BA WT+ (prem econ) last week RT from PDX-LHR-TLV that were even less than Std. Economy on 787-9 and A380. With CSR RT would have been a little over 100K UR or $1540 For RT mid March returning in April on BA. EL AL std economy through LAX was only a few hundred cheaper. But also learned will earn almost enough Avios for 2 RT PDX-HNL
Never flown BA to TLV, was leaning toward EL AL ~ PDX-LAX-TLV, but after EL Al#2 issues last Shabbos, I booked on BA on Sunday morning, but we are leaving a day earlier 17 hour total trip from PDX with a 1 hour connect thru LHR .
what about Norweigan airlines they have even cheaper rates and they fly from EWR which may be more convenient for some
@dave, all the Norwegian flights I checked, the final leg to TLV on direct flights all departed the following morning or the connection and travel added about 8-10 hours and another layover. They do have a fantastic Prem. Economy that’s closer to a Business Minus class at reasonable fares.
