Update: Please see this post for the latest updates.

Update, 9/23:

  • The Lufthansa Group (Austrian, Brussels, Eurowings, Lufthansa, and Swiss) confirms that their service suspension to Israel has been extended through at least 10/14.
  • ITA will upgrade from an A321neo narrowbody to an A330neo widebody for flights 809/810 from October 27-30 to make up for the cancelation of flights 812/815 through the end of the year. Flight schedules will also be changing to depart Tel Aviv 95 minutes later, from 10:50pm to 12:25am

HT: chff

Update, 9/20:

  • Air France will resume Paris-Tel Aviv service tomorrow.

Update, 9/19 at 3:15pm:

  • Delta has confirmed with DansDeals that over the coming days, they will be canceling all flights to Israel through at least 12/31/24.
  • A travel waiver has been issued for travel through 12/31/24, with free rebookings with no difference in fare available through 3/1/25. Delta has been very accommodating with Israel rebookings compared to their peers. If you are having trouble getting rebooked onto El Al, chat with Delta on the app or call Delta in Israel.
  • Delta is continuously monitoring the evolving security environment and assessing our operations based on security guidance and intelligence reports and will communicate any updates as needed. As always, the safety of customers and crew remains paramount. Customers should be prepared for possible adjustments to Delta’s TLV flight schedule, including additional cancellations on a rolling basis. Seats on Delta partner airlines Air France and EL AL Israel Airlines remain bookable on delta.com and through Delta Reservations when available”

Update, 9/19 at 1:40pm:

  • Delta’s next flight for sale to Tel Aviv has been pushed from 11/1/24 to 1/1/25. We have reached out to Delta for comment on the apparent extension of their pause in service. I’d expect their November and December flights to be officially canceled this weekend. If space is available, you should be able to get rebooked onto El Al, Air France, or Virgin Atlantic.
  • Air France, Lufthansa Group, and other airlines have paused service due to expected hostilities between Israel, Iran, and Lebanon. The next flights for sale for each airline have been updated below.

Update, 9/15:

  • RyanAir’s next flight for sale to Israel has been pushed back from 9/30 to 10/27.
  • Vueling’s next flight for sale to Israel has been pushed back from 10/27 to 1/12/25.
  • KLM has extended their technical stop in Larnaca on Amsterdam to Tel Aviv flights through 3/29/25.
  • For people flying into Amman and then crossing into Israel via the Allenby Bridge, United has indefinitely suspended its flights into Amman. If you were booked into Amman you can be rebooked on Lufthansa Group or you can fly to Dubai or anywhere in Europe on United.
  • Virgin will return to Israel on 9/25.

Update, 9/3: ITA Airways announced they will resume Rome-Tel Aviv flights 806/807 on September 5th. Flights 809/810 will resume on October 1st.

LOT Polish also resumed its Warsaw-Tel Aviv flights today.

Update, 9/2: Lufthansa Group confirms that Austrian, Brussels, Eurowings, Lufthansa, and Swiss will resume operations on September 5th….at least until the next threat is made. For Swiss, that includes the resumption of widebody A330 service between Zurich and Tel Aviv.

Other airlines have been updated below, including Air Canada pushing off their planned Tel Aviv restart from next month to April 2025.

Update, 8/21 at 3:40pm: Delta has confirmed to DansDeals that they will be suspending Israel service through at least 10/31 and that customers should be prepared for additional cancellations. Expect flights through 10/31 to be officially canceled during the coming week. Delta’s travel waiver has now been extended through 10/31, refer agents to that to try to get rebooked onto El Al or Air France.

Some readers say they have better luck getting Delta agents in Israel to rebook them. You can reach Delta at +972-3-513-8000 from 9am-5pm Israel time Sunday-Thursday (2am-10am ET).

“Delta is continuously monitoring the evolving security environment and assessing our operations based on security guidance and intelligence reports and will communicate any updates as needed. As always, the safety of customers and crew remains paramount. Customers should be prepared for possible adjustments to Delta’s TLV flight schedule, including additional cancellations on a rolling basis.”

Update, 8/21 at 3pm: Delta has stopped selling flights through 10/31, expect October flights to be officially canceled during the coming week. We have reached out to Delta for a statement. Aegean will resume service between Athens-Tel Aviv tomorrow, while other airlines have delayed their return to Israel.

Update, 8/19: Delta has stopped selling flights through 9/30, expect September flights to be officially canceled during the coming week. We have reached out to Delta for a statement. Lufthansa Group pushed back service resumption to 8/27 and Ryanair has extended their suspension through at least 9/30.

Update, 8/15: American tells DansDeals that,

“American Airlines has suspended operations to and from Tel Aviv through March 29, 2025. To provide additional flexibility, we will extend our travel alert allowing customers whose travel plans are impacted by this adjustment to rebook without a fee or cancel and receive a refund. We will continue to work closely with our partner airlines to assist customers traveling between Israel and European cities with service to the U.S.”

Note that it typically takes airlines several days to officially cancel flights, and agents typically won’t rebook travel onto a partner airline until the flight is officially canceled.

American hasn’t flown to Israel since before the 10/7 attack. It had been scheduled to return in October 2024, but that has now been pushed back to late March 2025 at the earliest (if they ever do decide to return). The airline previously rebooked some passengers on El Al via Europe, but it wasn’t always easy. The airline has not yet responded to our query about the cancelation or rebooking options. Post a comment with what options you are offered.

Below is a roundup of more than 40 airlines’ flight status for Israel, including the next available flight for booking, as of 6pm ET on 9/2. Note that earlier flights may be operational but aren’t currently available for purchase, check with your airline for the latest status.

shiframeir

is there a source we can point to to AA help? my ticket is still showing

MoG

Next available flight for booking? Did they cancel my 8/20 LOT flight or not?

JR

This sucks, hopefully things improve soon! is the best way to book tix from TLV-LAX with Qantas still? (El Al)

yankel

i dont see this flight on google flights
Hainan: Shenzhen-Tel Aviv flights operational.

Question

Any opinion if Austrian Air will actually be flying as they say?
Have a booking for September for my son to come home for my daughters wedding, and I don’t want to risk it last minute
Should I just rebook on Elal while tickets are still sort of low, or rather continue observe the situation?

Nachi

When did Delta announce suspensions past end of August? My 9/1 flight from JFK to TLV has not been cancelled.

aw

Is there any advantage to waiting until they officially cancel the ticket and see if they offer any sort of rebooking option? Or should I just cancel the ticket now myself ( i booked a fully refundable ticket) and book on El Al since I don’t know any other options?

mm

I have three children flying Iberia NY-Madrid -Tel aviv,8/25 Just checked, booking says confirmed. Should I rebook or is there a chance they will fly?

CR

My sister has the same issue. Iberia tends to cancel only 2 days prior to the flight. That’s 2 days prior to the madrid flight. East coast is 6 hours behind Madrid. So anytime the clock hits 48 hours expect an email about 2 or 3 hours after that. Once u get that email u call them and ask to be rebooked with a British flight.

Abe

I have the same flight on Sep 30, but British canceled their flight for that day. do they give other options?

mm

who do I turn to for Lufthansa that was booked through United…says still flying on Aug 26…

chaim

same here except mine is early September

Izzy

Is Israir a reliable airline. Their tickets seem pretty cheap. I’m trying to get to Israel for Elul zman and tickets are a fortune! It seems if I book a flight to Europe and the from Europe via Israir, I can get a pretty good deal – even without all this news and cancellations.
Am I missing something?

Mr. CC

That is a good way to do it, just give yourself enough time to collect and recheck luggage.
And you might have to pay for the luggage.

Worried mother

My daughter has a flight booked JFK-WAW-TLV on Aug 26. As of now, is that still on?

Worried mother

Sorry, forgot to mention: LOT airlines.

yy

The post says they plan to resume on 8/26. Your daughter’s WAW-TLV flight is on the 27th. If they don’t change plans, she’ll be OK, but that’s a big if.

Worried mother

I just realized that my daughter’s flight codeshares with ElAl. Ie: if you try to book a ticket on Elal WAW-TLV on Aug 27, the fight that it gives is my daughter’s flight and says “operated by LOT Polish Airlines”. So does that mean that ElAl takes responsibility for this flight? In other words, that it will happen?

Liam K. Nuj

I don’t think El Al personnel will board a LOT Airlines plane and fly it to TLV. However, El Al should take responsibility and try to help find alternatives.

Worried mother

Even if we booked it through LOT and not El Al?

Jaysu

BA tlv to London are also operational? Is there a technical stop?

yy

I booked February flights on AA without much expectation that we’d actually fly. Now for Plan B.

Chaya

My original flight with united was canceled and rebooked with Lufthansa. When i saw they canceled too I ran to book with delta and the price was low since no one was buying cause they canceled just for a few days…. I figured Id rather delta take responsibility and book me with their partners. The day i booked they canceled and i was able to get elal direct bh. With 8 flight changes later we got to israel. We paid $1,100 for a flight

Berel Shulgasser

Just called AA. Rebooked a mileage ticket in November on BA.

George

Do you think Austrian air will fly to Israel after Aug 22?

Rosie

I also have a ticket in September on United with a connection in Austria on Austrian airlines, I wonder if they will resume flying on August 22, what do you think? Thank you!

desperate

do u think ita air will fly on the 20th or just not book?

Sharon

I did the smartest thing ever. I booked my Israel tickets through Chase travel. The travel Escalation department has been insanely supportive, spending literally dozens of hours with me, making sure that I got on an ElAl flight yesterday. I kept track daily for airline updates, checked availability on Elal, but they really did the heavy lifting of negotiating with the airlines to change my flight. Now… let’s see if I can get back to Chicago…

Chaim

AAdvantage shows flights on other airlines for purchase but not for redeeming miles for me to tlv. Does that make sense?

Philip

So if I have two tickets booked on lot from lax on the 25th August and it takes off 26th from Poland am I still good? Will it be cancelled

Nate

Funny how everyone is asking will it be cancelled… Dan is the main man but he’s deff not a navi and not either in the know with Iran’s plans…

travelling with children

I am booked on ita on the 20th. Does anybody know what happens if ch”v they cancel while I’m on my flight from yyz to rome?

yy

You might look into the possibility of getting an El Al flight from Rome as insurance. I did something similar when flying Iberia before Pesach. Iberia ended up flying to TLV and I got a voucher from El Al.

travelling with children

Thanks! Luckily I got a flight on arkia before they sold out, and now they “delayed” my rome – tlv until friday.
p.s. Anyway to get compensation for that last leg of my trip?

travelling with children

Air canada told me that if I don’t complete the trip to tlv with them, I become a no-show and my return itinerary is voided.

David S

I booked EWR–>FRA (United) and FRA–TLV (Lufthansa) for 12/17 using Air Canada miles. Any suggestions on what I should do?

yy

See my reply to traveling with children.

Meir

Dan, any way to confirm if Lufthansa will fly on 08/22?

yankel

hey Dan
here is an easy one…
do you know when each of the airlines that says they plan on resuming on a specific date when they will cancel???

yankel

not sure if the readers are trolling or simply very ignorant.
maybe @dan you need to add a disclaimer at the beginning/end of each of these posts that you are reporting specific information and YOU ARE NOT AWARE OF ANY OTHER RESTARTING OR CANCELATION PLANS BY THE AIRLINES… you think that might help a little? a big flashing red pop up!!!
or do people really just not get it?

Mille_Bornes

Sorry this is a tangent topic but is Israel related so hoping someone can advise:

Going to Israel Sat nt. Have a rental reserved with Hertz. I usually decline their collision insurance and use the insurance on the chase sapphire reserve card. But I noticed that CSR insurance excludes loss due to war or terrorism. Do you think that the insurance provided by Hertz in Israel would cover for those scenarios? And would they normally have a deductible? They are not answering the question so not sure what to do. Much appreciate your advice. Thanks.

Jacob

Lot is flying as of August 20th afternoon flight

Tiger

I do not think so. Dan says they are not flying until next week.

Reb

American has formally cancelled my flight tlv-jfk 10/30. Rebooked through LHR on BA for now. Will try to get them to book on ElAl

Jaysu

Tlv>nyc w/ overnight stopover in London. Is a Hilton airport hotel safe/recommended now for visibly Jewish in light of the situation?

DD

Dan- your post says Iberia not flying till 8/28. But my relatives have tickets for this week and they have not been cancelled yet, they have called Iberia a few times and got no information . Where did you see that information?
( PS avoid this airline if you can, they are difficult and their service is terrible)

delta traveler

Hi Dan can I call delta now to rebook me even though they haven’t officially cancelled my flight yet they just stopped selling tickets for it ?

Chaya

When delta cancels a flight, do they rebook you on elal?

Chaim

Ita now pushed back restart to aug 23
Cancelling 2-3 days at a time

yankel

if lufthansa cancels a flight (bought with united miles) will they book me on El AL or just offer me a credit?

Aviator

I had a flight from before the war with Lufthansa and they had a waiver till December 31 to rebook after December 31 I wasn’t able to do anything it was a Cash ticket so not sure about miles but it’s going to be the same after December 31 they only let me use it towards a ticket as a voucher

Aviator

Please post what happens

Yehuda

What does it mean if an airline stops selling tickets for certain dtaes but have not cancelled previously booked tickets?

Sb

Delta still selling 9/19 tlv-JFK

boruch

aa is 3/29 jfk-tlv, not 3/31. see aa.com to verify.

yfc

Hi I’m not really familliar with flight info especially when it’s so complicated what would be the cheapest practical way to travel from NY to israel aug 21 and return 27
Thanks

SC

We changed our Delta flights to Elal a few days ago. They actually changed them before Delta added Sep. to the list of cancellationas, as the agent didn’t realize those dates were still on!

Liam K. Nuj

Crazy way how I “forced” Virgin to rebook me to the El Al flight that I needed.
1) Mid-July I booked on Virgin a round trip from TLV-NYC with a stop in London each way. The ticket was “Flex”, meaning I can cancel up until the initial boarding. The TLV-LHR (Sept. 5) was operated by El Al, the rest were operated by Virgin, including the LHR-TLV (that made me uneasy).
2) On Aug. 3 (after the “incidents” in Lebanon and Iran), I was sure that the LHR-TLV on Virgin was NOT going to happen. However, I could only switch to El Al for a lot of money, as at this point, it was still considered a voluntary change. So, I waited for official cancelation.
3) As “insurance”, I purchased another Flex ticket from Virgin, this one a one way from LHR-TLV on Sept. 5 – but this time on El Al.
4) Virgin cancels all flights to and from TLV – through Sept. 4th. My Sept. 5th flight was not yet canceled, so I was still unable to switch to El Al for no charge. Meanwhile, that El Al was filling up.
5) Finally, my Sept. 5 flight is canceled. But there were no longer any El Al seats available to me in my “cabin” (Economy Delight). There were available seats on the El Al flight in Economy Premium, but I didn’t qualify for that cabin.
6) I then told the Virgin supervisor about my second ticket (the LHR-TLV on El Al in Economy Delight) and asked her if we can cancel that ticket and use that now freed up Economy Delight seat on El Al to rebook my original ticket. She said that there was no guarantee that I’d be able to grab that seat before someone else did, or if El Al would even put it back in inventory in Economy Delight.
7) She then asked me that since there weren’t any satisfactory El Al availability for me (it HAD to be Sept. 5th), would I like to cancel. I asked her if I can still cancel the 2 reservations at the last minute. She said yes.
8) I told her, well if I can cancel a few minutes before the flight, I will wait until a few minutes before the flight. Maybe El Al seats in my cabin will open up…
…or maybe El Al will change their mind and let me rebook my now canceled Economy Delight seat in the still available Economy Premium cabin.
9) Virgin and El Al, faced with the prospect that valuable seats will be worthless if I followed through with my “threat”, worked it out and rebooked me on El Al on Sept. 5th – but I had to agree to first cancel my second ticket. I said, of course I’m going to cancel it – AFTER I see online my itinerary changed to reflect that I’m now on El Al on Sept. 5th.
10) Done.

Dougie

when Lufthansa says that they are cancelled up to the 26th, but you can rebook for free until 9/15 – does that practically mean that they are really just going to continue to cancel one week at a time until 9/15?

Also, a beef with Lufthansa. I had a TLV-FRA-JFK flight where they cancelled just the TLV-FRA leg and said that I could still use the ticket if I found my own way to FRA.
**However there was no monetary refund for that cancelled leg** even as I have to find my own way to FRA.

Mort

@dan

Can you do a post about which airlines will rebook your ticket on elal (or any other Israeli airline) in the event that the flights get cancelled due to the war?

Yossi

I was wondering the same think. As we (my family of 7) are flying back to Israel on August 28 from Berlin via Warsaw to Tel Aviv with LOT.
@Dan: what would be our options if LOT cancelled the flight? Will they rebook us on ELAL? We paid for the tickets with Chase Sapphire preferred, does the chase traveler cancellation insurance cover the price difference towards rebooking to a more expansive flight?

MoG

Air Europa החברה הודיעה על חזרתה לישראל החל מה21.08

MoG

Indeed Air Europa flew today Mad-Tlv.
JFK wasn’t willing to check the luggage through to TLV, but required picking it up in MAD and checking it back in closer to departure. (they couldnt explain why, maybe they were afraid the mad-tlv’d be canceled)

@dan anyway to get compensation for that inconvenience?
Their policy is: All your flights are operated by Air Europa and are on the same booking and ticket, it will go directly to the final destination. https://www.aireuropa.com/il/en/aea/travel-information/baggage/check-baggage-to-final-destination.html

Yed

Israel website https://passportnews.co.il/article/191803 reporting that DL doesn’t officially admit the further suspension, I assume @Dan knows better, especialy as sales are blacked out up to the new date

Dan

I had a Delta flight (partially flying on Air France) booked for a week in September. I just called up Delta – they rebooked me on ELAL in both directions for no extra charge

Yossi

Would AA ever rebook us on El Al?

KMC

Do the delta cancellations only refer to long haul flights incoming to tlv?

are short haul delta flights from Europe affected?
TIA

Shlovo

I’m eyeing a flight on Delta in December that is a decent deal. How does the rebooking work if they cancel it? Has it been somewhat easy to get them to rebook similar flights on elal?

Momo

I have flights for for sukkos, I was on the phone with the Diamond medallion desk for while, and they said that because it’s booked with points, they can only change it at Air friends and Klm, but not Elal. Any advice ?

David

Same thing here…

Lakewood34

Elal will have fixed prices to 4 cities including Athens 299 round trip Vienna and Dubai 349 round trip Larnaca 199 round trip through December as per times of isra3l

Scott Forbus

I managed to rebook a flight onto elal only for Delta to cancel the code share flight on October 8.

Now I’m trying to get them to rebook me again because they say that ElAl canceled it, which I kindly told them is definitely not the case.

Jaysu

1.Will ita rebook tlv to fco on El Al?
2. is it worth rebooking tlv to fco on El Al given that El Al departs an hr later than ita and there’ll be only about 2 tight hrs left for rechecking baggage to AA flight fco to jfk?

Dave

ita not rebooking on elal

Jaysu

I booked ita via Virgin (miles). Will Virgin rebook me on El Al?

Aaron

I have 3 delta one tickets jfk Tlv booked through flying blue. Delta won’t touch it bec it’s an AF booking, and AF won’t change anything until delta cancels – which they’re not doing in order to rebook people. Spent hours on the phone with both airlines to no avail. Also seems that even when delta does cancel, AF can only rebook me on something available with flying blue points – which obviously doesn’t include any elal direct. If anyone has any advice or can help…

I’m willing to pay as well

Ad120

Kudos to Delta for getting this right.

David

I called Delta in Israel to get my tickets rebooked, but an Israeli agent very rudely told me that it doesn’t work like this, some agent told me to call the Israeli office but he can’t help me and hung up on me 🙁

Avi

Delta rebooked me on ELAL, since I booked using ultimate rewards they had me call Chase to handle it but got done right, but that’s one way to get to Israel for sukkot with 70k points x6 tix… now just need seats together any advice only seats available are for $

Mindy

I have tix booked through chase ultimate reward points. Are you saying that chase travel rebooked you onto ElAl. I had previously called chase and they couldn’t help and told me to call Delta……should I try again through chase travel?

Mindy

Looking for guidance on getting my delta flight for succos get rebooked onto Elal (I would take connecting flights ). I booked through chase travel with chase ultimate reward points

Dave

BTW, I chatted with Delta in USA (when you call there is an option to get SMS link to chat instead of waiting for phone rep), and chat rep was great. Changed to LY no prob. Just a DP.

Ssfried

Was this a flight booked directly with Delta?

Dave

Is flying into AMM and going by land to Israel a bad idea?

Dave

To answer my own question, this is likely a pretty poor idea. The Israeli gov has a level 4 travel alert for Jordan currently.

mena

when going on el al website they will not give you the option to book on virgin atlantic till oct 27 why is that ????
I booked long time ago on el al website to fly for succes to israel on virgin and now u can book!

mena

I mean now I can’t book

Chaim

I had success with rebooking a paid Delta ticket ( booked through Amex with points) to Elal, But I did not have success with rebooking a Delta Award ticket to Elal.

Was anyone able to get Delta to rebook an award ticket ( Economy) to Elal?

mena

Luftansa group cancelled till sep 2

Dave

LH group extended suspension until September 2

Dave

Supposedly Aegean is operational and currently flying, btw. Might want to update post.

Dave A

What about Smartwings?

Dave

Half of CSA flights from PRG the past week to TLV have been diverted to BEY or AMM? WTH?

https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/qs1286#

yonah

Next available flight on LOT is 9/9

123

Based on its current security analysis, Austrian Airlines and the Lufthansa Group is again adjusting its services to the Middle East:

· Flights to Tel Aviv and Tehran are suspended up to and including September 2

123

Seems like the flight on Sep 2 that is landing in Israel on the third is not yet cancelled.

yonah

Now it is…

Jake

Is BA flying again or did they extend thrir pause into Sept?

Mordechai

Is there a way to get an updated list? This one is outdated

Sam Stern

Is Lufthansa group cancelled to Tlv?

Josh

Does anyone know if LOT is currently flying to TLV?

123

starting 9/3 morning

David

@Dan any post upcoming re the letter sent by Ritchie Torres to the US airlines’ CEOs?

Jaysu

ITA cancelled my tlv-fco flight, rebooked ba-aa tlv-lhr-nyc via aa site. Then ba cancelled… After much pressuring, an aa supervisor finally rebooked me on El Al tlv-lhr.

Chaim

I’m looking to book tickets in mid November from NYC to tlv using chase ultimate rewards. Is it worth spending the extra money to buy elal or is it a safe bet to book delta and get rebooked onto elal if there is a cancelation?

Dan is the Man

Keep in mind the lower cost Delta might be for basic ticket with no checked bag so if you need a checked bag make sure you’re comparing the main economy Delta ticket.
Keep in mind if Delta would stop flying even if they’d book you on El Al, all El Al flights would book up very fast. If you want/need to fly on the specific dates go with El Al.

Rj

Any info on ITA. Seems like they are moving day to day now. Will they actually fly Thursday now too?

Chaim

Now cancelled thru sep 4, no tickets on sale for sep 5 so looks like that will be too.

Ch

We should reach out to our local politicians and have them hold the airlines accountable for this anti Israel boycott.
There is no problem of safety it’s all a cover for they’re anti Israel bias
P .S. I noticed congressman Richie torres sent a letter to united about this

Chaim

boy who cried wolf..

Yoni

lol, to true

Eli

Are you for real?

Ch

If you live in Lakewood Contact rep Smith https://chrissmith.house.gov/contact/write.htm

flyer

if i book a flight on Delta, and they dont fly, whats the chances that they will rebook me on elal?

Chaim

23.7% chance

David

Nonsense

Izzy

99% as long as there is availability on El Al

Abc

Is it safe to go for sukkos ?

samdaman

ask magic8ball…
or your local Navi…

Was it safe to go for last Sukkos?

no lashon hara

really poor taste…but my family and I were just there and had no issues. Just stay away from the far north.

samdaman

I”m sorry you don’t like my taste but based on the topic of this page, I assume the question “Is it safe to go for Sukkos” is referring to safe from canceled flights… Which no one has a clue what will be!
Not you, not me, not Dan either.

I’m old enough to remember the absolute panic and pressure there was after Simchas Torah from all the people who never dreamed that their flights (and almost all others) would be canceled.
And the canceled flights pesach time from the Iranian missile attack, and the canceled flights duiring the summer after the Haniyeh assasination…
At this point there’s almost a chazaka for flight disruptions during bein hazmanim…

The point is: No one knows.

Travel agent

Ahhh bein hazmanin flights issues, when the koiach hatorah is gone that when things flair up.

samdaman

Oh, and regards to safety everywhere except the far north
It’s pretty clear at this point that Hamas and the PA in the WB are doing their best to pull off large scale terror attacks (shootings, bombings…) across the country.
B”H they have been mostly unsuccesfull, but no one knows what will be tommorow.

Izzy

Definitely

Sam

do you know what about KRK-TLV on lot?

Jaysu

Do you get compensations for cancelled flights by airlines, such ita or ba, in current situation in Israel, or just a refund your money or miles back?

Shmuli

I see Delta selling tickets from Israel on multiple dates, has something officially changed ?

Shmuli

Delta selling tickets Starting from Nov 1st from NYC and Nov 2 from TLV

Be very wary of trusting the Israeli airline ARKIA. My wife and I decided a few weeks ago to spend Sunday to Thursday 9/1-9/5 in Cyprus flying in from Tel Aviv. We decided to use an Israeli airline, as against Agean or Cyprus Airays to try and ensure we could get back to Israel for a family simcha. Our flight on Sunday 9/1 was due to leave Ben Gurion at 1 pm, an ideal time. Three days before the flight we were abruptly told the flight would leave at 6 am, seven hours earlier than scheduled. We almost canceled but then decided to go anyway. This involved rebooking our car rental for an extra day so that we would have a car early in the morning. Our return flight today 9/5 was due to leave Lrnaca at 3 pm. Last night at 9 pm we got an email saying that our flight time had been brought forward to 12 midday, which meant abandoning our morning plans and getting up much earlier than we wanted to. ARKIA is a very inefficient couldn’t care less for its customers from our experience. Think very carefully before booking with them. We were told this happens not infrequently and is because they are unable to juggle their planes properly and have no hesitation about canceling flights at a moment’s notice. Be warned

Travel agent

I had the same experience. I don’t suggest booking with them unless the savings is worth last minute changes. I would certainly not book a separate ticket connection if they are the first leg.

samdaman

Small/Tiny airline + security instability ++ = schedual issues

Bob

“BA: London-Tel Aviv flights operational with a technical stop in Larnaca from London to Tel Aviv through at least 9/30. Flights from Tel to London operate nonstop and are operational, but will have a technical stop in Larnaca in October.” — Do you have to switch planes in Larnaca?

Alex

i have a ticket on Virgin on Sep 30 from LHR – TLV is that reliable or will they push of their date again?

ssfried

If I book a united flight to TLV, but its a flight flown by lufthansa – does that mean (as long as lufthansa is still flying) that its ok to book?

Fe

Swiss cancelations

Alex

Virgin Just announced they will stop over in Cypres on every flight from LHR to TLV

Mosh

How is AF flying to Israel and KLM not? They’re one and the same

samdaman

True, but different staff, and different AC fleet which each may not have the flexibility to add flights at this point.

samdaman

I would caution against the Amman/allenby option at this point. The Jordanian street is VERY palastinian, and based on recent events at the border crossing, it is within the realm of possiblity for it to be closed without warning…
I understand people may be doing it, but it is a high level of danger.

yb

Is Swiss Air flying?

yb

they canceled my flight from tlv to zrh for oct 9th

123

AF and Lufthansa group cancelled again

Bob

Air France cancelled flights to Israel for at least the next few days

Yid

Are they compensation passengers who’s flights from Israel to the EU on an Eu airline have been canceled “Due to the recent change in the security situation” under the EU law?

RB

Looking to book tickets for October 8 not elal as that’s way too expensive which airline is least likely to cancel at this point?

Annie Weinberg

If I have reservations on Delta on 12/4/24 TLV-JFK operated by El Al, which airport counter do I check in at (if Delta is canceling their flights, will their counter have personnel)??

Leah

Anyone know if Air Europa has a 24 hour cancellation policy for New York to tel aviv (according to DOT law) I tried speaking to multiple customer service representatives but they would not give me a straight answer

AAA

I booked with Chase UR and it said it does have the 24 hour cancellation policy

Leah

Thanks I know through chase, Priceline and other sites, there is a refund policy but I don’t know about through the actual website and I need to book on there because I only want to pay for bags one way.

Eitan

My flight with Swiss Air (booked with miles through United) from TLV to Zurich yesterday was cancelled. I was rebooked on Lufthansa for this Sunday to FRA and that has now been cancelled as well. Lufthansa couldn’t find any availability until earliest September 29, but that’s too late for me. Back to the drawing board…

Shlomo

Delta just offered me ELAl for flight that is cancelled officially now on November 3
They offered me Virgin after saying Air France has also cancelled flights
Can’t count on them either so it’s ELAl or bust

Yehuda

As I have a lot of experience with booking flights especially in the past year I would suggest getting a round trip with ELAL from some european country and from there take whatever airline you want to the states. Israair may work as well. (Of all the European airlines Transavia seems to be the best option.)

joel

i booked a rt nyc – tlv sep to nov elal there and delta back in the hope they cancel i will get back half the trip [only needed one way]. it was 68k rt as opposed to 81k ow

Leah

When did you book for? I’m looking for similar travel dates.

david

I have a flight out of JFK, will be able to rebook out of Newark?

OD

maybe you can recommend booking strategies what to do for those wanting to visit Israel?

is EL AL the only safe option at this point? can you book fully refundable flights with el al? refundable through third party providers?

OD

a detailed dive post on above points I think would be of great interest to a lot of us especially a deep dive into how to best secure a fully refundable flight( purchase from carrier or purchase a third party insurance, price difference, can you cancel for any reason etc………

Wolf Sender

I booked delta business For November 27 through December 3 As soon as I saw the Notice on your site earlier today I got in touch with Delta through my app by messaging and they switched me to el al for the same dates it took her while because the agent I was in contact with did not have the cancellation yet as soon as they got the cancellation she was able to rebook me without a problem. I got the last seats on business class going and coming so I assume it will not be easy to rebook once the flights fill up, I hope all is craziness ends Soon my concern is that all this that happened the past few days will make it difficult to fly with a telephone or a laptop or any electronic device. I hope I’m wrong.

Ryan W.

I was very happy with Lufthansa earlier this year, might try ITA next. El Al is just too expensive for us as a family of 6 but I’d love to use them and support them.

But after multiple cancellations on Air Canada and United out of Chicago, El Al definitely looks like the only reliable service right now.

Michael Somerstein

@dan I have 6 mileage tickets booked with SkyMiles to TLV in November, Delta is telling me that Elal isn’t honoring mileage tickets, any idea if that’s actually true? Anything to do about that?

SC

Very easily changed my flights for Nov. from Delta to Elal. Same dates, similar time.

Michael Somerstein

Were they booked with SkyMiles?

Dan the man

Same!

Michael Somerstein

Same, as in there were booked with skymiles and they switched you to Elal?

mike

Dan, can you clarify. if they cancel the flight and you dont want to rebook can you get a refund back to your CC or will it be a voucher?

Shay

If I booked airfrance, and I have delta status would they rebook me on el al?

flyer

Had Delta direct in Dec, Just called Delta USA number, and they told me that its not cancelled, I told them that Delta announced that they will be canceling, and she then put me on Elal direct.
Was Booked through Delta.com (Cash ticket)

May the innocent business owners losing tourist revenue in Israel do their best to rid themselves of the aggressive regime of BiBi in his attempts to hold onto power and influence upcoming US elections.

israel

@dan on swiss website it says cancelled until sep 24

Naf naf

Dan, any update on Virgin Atlatnic actualy flying since the pager attack?

Aryeh

There was no change there following the beeper incident.

oyyy

I purchased my flight from Israel 0n Austrian air in order to complete the $4000 of spending withing 3 months for the Capital one Venturex rewards. Now it is after 3 months and Austrian has canceled my flight as well as all flights to Israel. Capitol one says there are no flights they can rebook me on, even an alliance member. (ie. Lot or Agean) Do you know if I request a refund, will they will also take bake the 75000 points ?

Chaim

Lufthansa canceled until October 14
Please update

Yaakov

Meaning, they will resume on 14th? This is a big difference for me

David

14th is cancelled. too – just lost my flights to Israel for Yom Tov

Yaakov

Does the Lufthansa (updated) cancellation end on the 13th? Or the 14th? It’s unclear by the wording. I have an outbound leaving ORD on the 14th to Zurich, and leg #2 leaving to TLV on the 15th. This is so tricky!

David

If your flight is on the 15th, it is not cancelled (yet)

Swiss ticket

Since your flight to Tel Aviv is on the 15th, as of now it was not canceled

Leah

How is ITA in regards to cancellations, flying to Israel? Am I better off booking with ITA or British airways for an October 6th flight?

moshe

can i rely on LOT for sukkos????

Yonah

shuki

Baruch

Does anyone know if neos airlines is flying from Israel?

Chaim

Seems that Aegean canceling the next few days

Leah

I am booking a return flight for November 11. I can fly back with ITA or Delta (with virgin airlines). If my flight gets cancelled which airline is more likely to be able to rebook me on el al? (Also using chase travel portal to book if that makes a difference)

Just saying

This list is outdated. Please update. Thank you

Naf naf

Virgin Atlantic cancelled through 10/1 (at least)

Jacob

What’s going on with virgin atlantic. Search site still showing sept 28 but looks like they aren’t selling tickets for flights before oct 1. Got a flight booked on VE 454

Lost

Delta US was having major issues rebooking me, all the elal flights kept coming up as unconfirmed. I’m wondering if this is a new policy or just delta US. I will beh try delta Israel tomorrow. Anyone have any info on this?

Yehuda

In order to check which airlines are CURRENTLY flying you can chek Ben Gurions flightboard at https://www.iaa.gov.il/en/airports/ben-gurion/flight-board/?flightType=arrivals.
Remember that a lot of airlines that appear are really Elal codeshare. The way to tell what is codeshare, is to check if there is an Elal flight from the same destination at the same time.
Cancelled flights will only show for flights that the airline had intended to operate during the previous 72 hours.

Delta

Multiple representatives from Delta US and Delta Israel told me that elal no longer allows them to “protect” (Aka rebook) on their flights . Any ideas?

Chaim
