Air France/KLM Flying Blue switched last month from an award chart based program to a calculator based award chart. They also killed the ability to book travel to Israel with promo awards.

Luckily they have restored that ability to their Promo Awards as of today.

This month you can book discounted travel from Houston or Washington DC to Europe, Russia, or Israel for half of the regular rate in economy. You can also book discounted travel from Montreal to Europe, Russia, or Israel for half of the regular rate in premium economy.

Travel is valid from 8/30-10/30.

Sadly, Air France has removed their flexible award calendar so you need to search every individual day to find the lowest rates.

You can book travel and search for award space on AirFrance.com after logging into a Flying Blue account.

You can book one-way travel for half of the miles listed below.

Promo pricing Montreal to Tel Aviv round-trip in Premium Economy:

Promo pricing Washington DC and Houston to Tel Aviv round-trip in Economy:

You can transfer AMEX, Chase, or Citi points to Flying Blue at a 1K:1K ratio or Starpoints to Flying Blue at a 20K:25K ratio.

Note that Promo awards are nonrefundable and non-changeable.

Will you book any promo award this month?

Krum Cup

Didn’t double-check but I think Flying Blue / MR promo is still going for 1K:1,250 ratio.

27,000 miles is not half the amount. It should be 12,500 x 2 = 25k miles.

Delta

Can you transfer delta sky miles to flying blue?

genius

Hi dan, you can update the expiration policy for flying blue miles as follows, that any earning activity, even point transfers from any bank card in any amount, will extend the exp. date for another 24 months, plus the remaining until end of that month. That means you no longer have to have a paid skyteam partner flight anymore. I did a test myself by transferring 1000 amex points & its now showing that all the miles in my account will expire july 31, 2020

Can you use American advantage points? Also are there any deals using Aa points from NY airport to Israel?

Mike

No such thing as a deal to Israel using AA miles. You’ll be lucky if you can use AA miles to Israel without a deal unless you don’t mind flying Royal Jordanian.

Hershel

And the RJ option now seems to be effectively limited to Economy, hardly any Business seats available. Shame as the RJ Business product is very comfortable.

Chateau Express

It is indeed comfortable as they use 787 and the seats are fully flat, however the configuration is poor, since the seating are 2-2-2, so no direct aisle access from windows seats.

hey

is awardtravel.com out of date? and if it is what is the better option?

Monsey to Israel

By citi points do you mean thank you points? How many points would it be for return trip from NY to Israel per adult?

yman
