When Southwest has a sale the points needed for a free flight also go on sale as Rapid Rewards is a revenue based program. A round-trip short-haul flight can be had for just 4,560 points-a value of over 2 cents per point. If you have an unlimited use companion pass thanks to opening 2 Southwest cards you would get a value of over 4 cents per point making a 50,000 point bonus worth over $2,000.
Through 10/31 the Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Premier Chase Visa Signature Card gives 50,000 bonus points for spending $2,000. There are 2 consumer and 2 business versions of the card that each give 50,000 points. Those cards can be accessed at the bottom of the application link where it says “Additional Southwest Airlines Credit Cards.” Read more in this post.
The network carriers are also matching these fares in case you care more about earning traditional airline miles than the free bags and cancellation policy

@Dan: For the record, you no longer need to call in to get a fare difference refund. Click on the change flights link and repurchase your flights. Any fare difference will be refunded automatically.
If you have a companion ticket booked, you need to cancel the companion ticket, log out and log back in, rebook your flight using the method above and then add the companion again.

Can you make a post from southwest similar that you did on ba direct flights from new York or Miami. ?
I can’t see the value jn southwest for someone living in new York . there are no direct flights to anywhere I would go.

I signed up for the Plus & Premier in July when they had the 50K Bonuses. Since then I’ve attained their companion status. I flew to FLL & ATL last week with SWA & AirTran. Very pleased with the service. I’m from New York but I’m flexible so I flew out of BWI & stopped over in ATL on my way back to LGA. Thank You Dan for the CC bonuses & today’s sale. I booked seven trips today using rapid rewards & I still have 12K RRP remaining in my account. Plus I IYH will be taking a companion with me on each of those trips.

I booked tickets through airtran on oct 1st.It said flight is thru southwest.Does the free 2 checked bags apply being it is operated thru southwest?
@Morris: As long as you booked your flight on southwest.com, you will be entitled two 2 free bags.Even if it’s on a partner airline such as airtran.
A few questions: Does southwest allow 24 hour cancellation? Do you think other airlines discounted rates on SWA routes will end at the same time the Southwest sale ends? Do you think it ends at midnight EST or PST tonight?

As long as you apply for cards from the same bank on the same day then it’s still typically 1 pull.
I used iPad iPod & lap I tried twice & both times I got error message from both- wierd

You need to use a different browser. If you already applied in IE then try Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari, etc, etc.
i tried now with chrome in private and firefox in private and went thru. so u cant use chrome in private 3 times u have 2 use differemt browsers?
also r more likely 2 get approved 4 multiple cards from chase business if u apply for different business names or 1 business will work as well? created 3 cards for this 1..
