Quickly – before it’s too late! Enter to win your own beautiful Jerusalem apartment!

And while you’re at it, support an amazing cause!

What’s that? Am Yisroel Chai is the 501c3 organization behind The Dream Raffle. It’s an organization that supports infrastructure all throughout Israel. And now more
than ever, Israel needs our help.

Am Yisroel Chai provides services that help via a myriad of crisis prevention services. To name but one of its many services, it provides critical assistance to farmers whose entire livelihoods have been destroyed through agricultural terrorism (think: burning kites, deployed by terrorists, landing amongst farmers’ crops and leaving mass destruction in their wake). The cause is more urgent than ever, and we can use your support more than ever before.

For that reason, we have extended The Dream Raffle to December 30th.

Your last day to enter will be Sunday, December 30th at 11:59pm, and the live raffle drawing will be held on Monday, December 31st at 6pm, Israel time.

So c’mon! Enter to support and enter to WIN

Sometimes your dreams really do come true!

I have been trying to understand this organization. Did you know there is this one and another one in israel and the one in israel knew nothing about this .i looked to find out who one . And i couldnt find a answer. Now i see the ad up again. With a different date. Can soneone see why two organizations doing the same thing?. Does the money really go where it suppose to go ?or only a small percentage go to am yiseral chai.

Wondering the same

I donated and I have the same questions. I wish there were more specifics about this organization so I can be confident that my money is going to people who need it.

If you do a search, this has been on DD since this past summer 2018. IMHO (in my humble opinion) the longevity of advertising on various sites and the longevity of the raffle, it’s reasonable that there are starting to become questions. I personally don’t donate money to organizations just for the sake of whether I like the prize or not. Believe me, there are no raffling of cars, apartments, vacations, silverware, or lottery tickets when I modestly contribute to my town’s Tomchei Shabbos (Sabbath meals for the poor). But I feel great and fulfilled, nonetheless. I understand others may feel differently, but I encourage one to think about the true reason of tzedaka (charity). If you solely donated because you thought there would be a raffle, then I respectfully think one’s priorities with charity must be reorganized with reflection. With this particular charity (I have never heard of them, nor has my Rabbi), I can’t vouch for or against them as I truly don’t know what work they do under the scenes. To disclose, I have not contributed charity to this organization.

I commend the moderator for open dialogue, and I encourage the organizer of this fundraiser to respond. Thank you.

My great-grandfather bought a ticket for this raffle in the early 1900’s, and it’s been passed down as a family heirloom. Really looking forward to the drawing finally!

Dan, I am dissapointed that you are advertising this inaccurately. Multiple people have reached out to ask if an actual apartment is being raffled, or split the pot and have had no response. In addition, according to their site, if it’s split the pot, first $200,000 goes to the organization to cover expenses. So if Les then 1112 tickets sell, winner gets nothing.

The apartment is for sale for $650K, how is this worth $1M exactly? All in this sounds like a scam….

Yeehaw!

It was probably a pre-constuction price of $650k. When the building was completed years later, it may be appraised to around $950k which rounds up to $1M.

Besides the income tax on winning this property, there is also the Israeli purchase tax of approximately 8%.

People don’t realize how much its going to cost them to win. Assuming that someone does.

You can look at the YouTube video they put out. It explains what happened. They did not sell enough tickets so the pushed off date. They say the sponsor agreed to make the raffle regardless of how many tickets are sold by the 30th

EZ

They might have used all the money to advertise on just about every Jewish website that I visit on a daily basis.

Letsgocustom

The problem is that it seems from the terms and conditions that they always planned the raffle to be held on the 30th

Unless it was updated after it was pushed
Perhaps @shmuel can elaborate

simon

so , according to shmuel sackett on the you tube video , the tickets purchased earlier will not be valid for the new drawing ? He mentioned something about previous purchasers receiving a discount to purchase new tickets ?
Are there 2 Am Yisrael Chai organizations ? Is the Am Yisrael Chai Foundation a different organization . I saw the original raffle advertised in the OU Center ( israel ) weekly magazine .

Letsgocustom

Very disappointed I baught two tickets original raffle and then it got pushed off

EZ

Letsgocustom, Can I respectfully and humbly ask you something? Why are you disappointed that you supported a tzedaka organization? Although I didn’t donate anything to this organization, the tzedaka organizations I do contribute towards don’t have raffles or prizes- I give because 1. I feel wonderful helping less fortunate 2. It’s a mitzvah. With all respect, did you only donate to this organization because of the raffle?

Letsgocustom

Because I cant even validate if it’s a legit org

Letsgocustom

And obviously the raffle was a large incentive to give

Letsgocustom

1)who said they are less fortunate
Maybe it’s some developer who needs to fill his building
2)the raffle was a large incentive to give
Please tell me your not so naive

Letsgocustom

These are the terms and conditions if anyone is interested
It is enlightening
They write there will be 2 winners and only a page later they write two winners if 40000 tickets sell
The whole thing is a mess

Shmuel Sackett

Hello, everybody. This is Shmuel Sackett, founder of the Am Yisrael Chai Foundation and The Dream Raffle. Lately, some of you have been questioning the legitimacy of this raffle and I assure you, everything being done is 100%. I started AYC (Am Yisrael Chai) back in 2001 and have been helping many causes since that date. The main reason you probably never heard of AYC before is because we never did anything public. We have ZERO staff (all my work is volunteer), do not have an office (everything is done from within my apartment in Israel), never had a dinner or public event… until now. All these years I have been privately raising funds and distributing every dollar raised (except for the accountant’s fee to prepare the legal 990 IRS report) and this raffle marks the first time I have done something public. I decided to do it simply because I cannot help all the people in Israel who are doing wonderful things. My phone and email are full each day with requests for funds for very important work and my small foundation simply could no longer handle the requests. Therefore, I put together this raffle, together with an amazing team of experts and we are trying our best to raise the necessary funds to help as many people as possible. I am a dedicated servant to the Jewish Nation, have spoken in 500 Jewish communities in the USA and Canada, have written hundreds of articles and been interviewed on radio and television many times. Feel free to check me on Google and see what I have done. I assure you one thing: This raffle is the real deal and the money will go to help Jewish farmers on the Gaza border, the IDU for their amazing work, the Haredi settlement of Emanuel plus many other important projects not currently being supported anywhere else. Thank you.

marko

Dear Shmuel, did you get enough entries to actually raffle off the apartment on Monday, December 31st at 6pm, Israel time?

EZ

Thank you for responding Shmuel

Letsgocustom

I do regret some of the things I wrote but
Next time you should really lay out the terms better

Drop the professional fundraising team and get a transparent one

It seems like your a gr8 guy
Organizations are always better when they are small so keep it that way

DiamondW

Shmuel,

Why is it being advertised as a $1MM apartment when a quick phone call to the sales office quotes it at $650K (2.4MM NIS)?

Letsgocustom

good Question
@shmuel is there a explanation?
