Generally small changes don't get you a refund.
They want to get these flights off their books.

Then why are they denying some people the opportunity to cancel? I doubt the lowly rep that rots5 called knows the difference between this ticket and any other

My guess is all these tickets are hard-coded for free cancellation.

Just depends whether the rep actually tries or not.

Doesn't make sense they'd want a ticket that's scheduled for departure in <7 days "off their books" just lishma.

That seat, cancelled 6 days out, is going to transport air from PHL-TLV. Better $400 than O2.

Why would US want me to cancel a few days before the flight?

Does it cost them more than $461 to fly me, or are they still hoping they can sell my seat for more?

Like I said, my guess is that they flagged all of these tickets to get free refunds to make things easier. How close the flight is isn't a factor at that point to a reg rep who presses the cancel button and sees eligible for refund.

4 minute changes don't just become refundable on normal tickets.

i forgot where i wrote this, i called this morning (israel time) to cancel my Bils friend flight. i said the flight time was changed and it took my whole trip for a major loop, i would like to cancel... she said oh wow so sorry one second... she comes back "sir u know the departure was changed by 3 minutes and arrival by 1 minute?" i said ya, you see, crazy ness i dont know if i can work around the schedule change..." she laughed and cancelled like a "doll"

It would make sense for them to hard-code it differently, as they're now giving away $461 a pop for each ticket refunded, it's lost revenue for them.

Do the OTAs stilll get paid on refunded tickets?

Currently on the ground here in PHL everyone on this flight spend no more than 600 we had a minyan on the plane.

Before take off the computer system for the brakes went down we are still grounded do you think this is some kind of play from US air? (Just kidding)

It's funny to see there is 4 buchroim sitting in envoy I wonder how they pulled that off..
