Las Vegas Master Thread
« on: April 08, 2009, 02:51:10 PM »
I am looking to go to Vegas w/ the wife leaving Aug. 30th in the AM from Chicago (ORD of MDW) and returning in the evening Sept 1st.  I am looking to stay at a decent place on the strip and rent a car.  I have looked at expedia and I am looking at about $375 a head for the total package for looks like a normal room econo car and flying frontier air.  Any suggestions on how to get the most bang for my buck?  Where to stay?  Things to do?  I hear there are lots of free things to do like the pirate show, does anyone know more about that?

I am looking at booking a 2 night 3 day package for 2 from ORD to LAS including fight hotel and car Aug 30-Sept1.  Assuming I was going to pay cash (as opposed to miles) where would you suggest I book my package through?

Why wouldn't you just post in the thread that you already created here?

Message Board etiquette dictates to only start a new thread if it is a new conversation. Otherwise, the forum would become a mess in a real hurry.

True but that is how I like to vacation.  Save up my points all year and then not have to pay out cash when I go on vacation.

I'm not sure what your budget is, but your dates are $104/night at the Bellagio and is sure to be a trip you wont forget if you stay there.

Dan the Bellagio is super nice but at over 2.5 times what I am paying I am going to have to take a pass.  Maybe one day when I am making the big bucks.

"stupid" is a tad harsh $189 difference is somewhat significant and not everybody plays the tables

Agreed, definitely not stupid, just another option.  As is waiting for a nearly free room via an orbitz coupon.

Although the Bellagio does have a couple $5 Blackjack tables that with following basic strategy could easily be broken even with.

I will be playing some blackjack and probably some poker.  This is my first time to Vegas so don't know what will get me comped and what won't and the less I spend on the hotel the more I have for the tablr
