Interesting, they offered it to me a few weeks ago when I enquired about fee free foreign transactions.

Don't we have access to that with the Amex Platinum card? Isn't the 1st bag of luggage free with the regular Citi AA card?

Feedback from anyone who has applied for this card? Approvals? Denials? Any stiffer credit qualifications?

Yep, got about 850k now. I am applying for 2 cards in a week. Trying to decide if this should b one to get miles after 12/1.  If I get 2 cards (50k amex and this one for 25k) then i buy 40k, I'm knocking on the door.  I read on FT most folks applied online, then were prompted to call in and answer a few questions. Some were also denied. Experiences? Thoughts?

Is it worth it to apply for the card to get free baggage for an upcoming AA flight and then cancel? Will the $450 be refunded?

Not IMHO. You're taking the credit hit to save just a few dollars on baggage fees, when you can take the hit and earn hundreds in miles.

Don't you get 25K with 1k Spend?

You'd need to consider the value of the miles and the baggage fees and see if it's worth it for you.

Personally I try to get at least $500+ in value out of a credit pull.
