after i applied for this i sent a sm to chase, i told them i saw an offer for 50k and they responded

Request the 25k, my guess is you might even get to keep the $50.

So if you aren't targeted for the 50K, just apply for the 30K+$50 offer and and you'll be able to change it to 50K via secure message!
And maybe even keep the $50...

well in the message it said after i get the 50 credit i can choose to give back the 50 credit for 20k more miles

Choose to give it back and let us know if they take back the $50 or not and when the miles post.

ithe 50 statement credit posted so i messaged them they said that they added 20k miles and reversed the statement credit. but as of yet the statement credit is still there and none of my miles have posted. will keep updated

call united and tell them you opened a credit card, and they made you a new account, and you'd like to merge them.
