This is great now all I need is an internet connection for free calls.
Not forever, they are officially gonna start charging

and by how I mean without having to call Sprint back up and getting a new number and 2 year agreement
they say u can call sprint & get a new number without a new 2 years by saying it was a mistake or whatever, reactivate it, and unfortunately they wont be able to restore your number so they'll give u a new one. well that was to have the etf refunded, not sure about if ur out of contract

i think there is a dd post about this, u need gizmo
They'll start charging (an undisclosed amount) after tons of people port their numbers, hmmm...
doubt it
No need to self-deprecate, I'm just clarifying.
when we starting the dd group therapy thread?

and i'm more interesting in porting out of google voice - any word on that?

The problem if you didn't sign up to SIP Sorcery yet, they are no longer accepting new accounts.

Same with Gizmo5, which I would prefer over this. Looks like you can get em on eBay for $8.99.

SIP Sorcery accounts are also available on eBay, albeit for more. Bidding on an Auction style listing will save you at least a few dollars.

The problem is that with just Gizmo5 you cant do outbound sip w/o a callback. You need SIP Sorcery to do that.

I wasn't suggesting Gizmo5 as an alternative, just saying what I said.

An alternative to gizmo5 is SipGate which I believe is still free... you would still need sipsorcery if you want to place outbound calls..

Best thing about sipsorcery is having multiple GV numbers on one phone :)

G5 is awesome.  At $8.99 it's a steal!
Grab this now guys if you don't have it and want to make easy calls for free when outside the US.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

When bundled with GV, or even on its own?

With GV.

BTW I found this app called Talkatone that allows you to make outgoing Google Voice calls from any iOS device. I wonder if this would work in Israel.

Sprint? That'll be really hard because porting inherently cancels your line and Sprint is happy to get people off the legacy plans.

For $20.

Not to bad. Optimum charges $40. Of course free is the best price, but just saying.

Optimum has a monthly fee too, GV is free (for now).

Yes, but GV too only works with another phone that has a monthly fee.
