Any good cheapish restaurant in Pittsburgh?

I believe that currently Pittsburgh only has a mediocre pizza shop, Milky Way
They also have Rita's Ices and a bakery in the Giant Eagle grocery store.

The city of East Cleveland is like Harlem-you don't want to go there

In all seriousness, I'd be happy to give a rundown on Cleveland's kosher restaurants if you'd like, they're all located about half an hour east of Cleveland.

And you're right, I really don't want to go there, considering the reason , but I'm already driving in and out from Queens to Pittsburgh tomorrow for a shiva call, and we really don't have time for over another hour of driving.

There may also be an upscale bakery in Pittsburgh called Sweet Tammy's, but it's pretty expensive and I can't imagine that it will survive in a jewish community famous for not eating out or supporting its local kosher establishments.

Since I went to high school there the city has gone through Yacovs, King David, Platters, Golden China, Simple Treat, Rolladin, Sari's, Pinati's, Aaron and Ari's, and Cafe M.

True, but it can't compare to a full service bakery. They don't even have doughnuts!

I remember as a kid they used to have a great ice cream parlor-Leibel's, but that too is long gone.

Amazing how much money they put into that place...so predictable that it would never last!

Pittsburgh should import their Challah from the Bagel Shoppe in Cleveland...now they make great Challah!

Although Pittsburghers do have a strange fascination with Ungers Challah imported from Cleveland. My principal even once told me that Ungers Challah is the best thing that comes out of Cleveland...
