you do not have to take out any insurance from the rental agency when renting a car!! all the cars have the state minimum liability insurance which comes with the rental. the coverage varys from state to state. (i think hertz has it posted somewhere on the website or brochure)
also with a month rental idk where you are located but dont do the rental in NJ as they have an extra $5 a day tax. I found that in the tri state are PA was the cheapest (try the airport, on a monnthley it can be cheaper than a local location)

meaning, if you rent for 28 days the fee is $140, if you rent for 29 days the fee is $0

state minimum is $10,000 thats nothing! also for medical expenses its $25,000/person $50,000/accident so its not worth it

1) covers you up to 42 days
2) makes your cc the primary coverage
3) covers car worth up till $75,000
4) costs 24.95 per rental in NY, NJ
