The best rates Ive found have been found here, my CC wasnt charged till I got to the Hotel: http://www.israelhotels.org/hotels_all.cfm?LevelID=31

or you if not staying over Shabbos you could try and trade someone for the # of PC (Priority Club- Holiday Inn) pts needed and stay at The Crowne Plaza by Binyama HaUma

I can get the ramada for 115 anight direct at ramada.com vs. the kink you posted it is $136 a night but includes breakfast.
Was wondering if there is any way to get the better hotels that cost 300+ for >200?

its $136 if you're staying only 1 or 2 nights. Its 6% off 3-6 nights and 12% off 7+ nights

 so a 7 nights stay would be $952 (7 x 136) - 114 = 838 or $119.71 with breakfast or $5 a day for breakfast over thier websites rates

a little more if theres 2 people in the room $140.71 after the disc

of cause its more if youre there less then 7 nights and depending on the dates it can be more or less $$

I have found great deals on Expedia when booking airfare+ hotel. Don't know if your tickets are already booked but you can try that. It basically gave me the hotel for free when you consider the cost of a ticket alone, but that was off season, so YMMV.

2 Hotels up from The Ramada is The Park its $89 a night for a single night when The Ramada wanted $136 both are B&B. I personally stayed at The Park for 1 night eve Succoth since my Mamilla res was from Fri night onwards and I arrived in Israel on Thurs

Dont think Id want to spend a week there but a night or 2 and at the $89 rate , it was just what the Doc ordered. Yea its needs to be renovated but for the price paid it was perfect. I walked over to The Ramada for the minyans. Breakfast wasnt bad at all

Btw, what can you tell us about the Mamilla?
  Is it worth it's money?

thats a loaded question, whats worthwhile to me might not be to the next person and vice versa

Was it worth it for what I paid You bet it was. BTW no cribs allowed in the cheapest room so for you it starts at $500+

If you Honestly will pay that much per night then I will be more then happy to give you My full rundown on the place. ive done that already to a few people who ended at the end saying 'no matter good it might be they never would spend that kind of $$$", so I basically wasted my time

Before Mamilla I was at The Imperial in Vienna for 3 nights my room was well over $1000 that I was UPed into, and that wasnt 1 of the Jaw dropping Suites they have. (It was those free SPG weekend stays from the stay 2 get 1 free) It was Old school nothing modern but it was Great. Yep worth the 20k+ per night but unless it was a going to be a very Special time Id do the Marriott down teh block, the Hilton a few blocks away or LeM a couple blocks away rather then blow those amount of pts. Yet I know a # of people from FT that save their SPG pts just in order to cash in for The Imperial.

My pt is what works for me might not for you. If I could use my SPG pts for Mamilla , yes I would but that isnt gonna happen. The mgr said the owner is in the process of building some Hotels in Europe and will have their program

But feel free to ask me anything in particuliar that you would need to know

I dont think there will be 1 any time soon. Marriott has been out for over 1 yr longer then *W and Hilton has been out for over 10 yrs

bout the only play in town is The Crowne Plaza, where you can forget about any type of Upgrades etc

I was just wondering if you knew that Adolf Hitler ym"s stayed there when he gave his famous speech in Heroes Square. People should be aware of that before choosing to stay there.

What does have to do with the price of tea in China?

turns out I ended up in a number of Hotels in Europe that were either Gestapo or SS HQ. As long as they arent the HQ today I see absolutly no reason not to stay.

There are those who wouldnt still buy a German car, yet the SY community be it in Flatbush or Deal are loaded with BMWs,MBs,Audi etc etc and they are showing up in the driveways and streets in Boro Park as well these days.

I thinking keeping away from these places and items i.e. cars - is basic decency to the survivors, especially don't want to give my grandparents a ride in my car when it has the same symbol the ss drove up to the cc in.

If it would be the only thing/place available...
But to each their own.

I agree, but surely there is a difference between not buying a mercedes and not staying in hotels that were stayed in by nazis.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

If that is the case then no Survivors should have lived in Israel where at 1 time most of the public transportation was German made and I believe most Egged buses still are

for yrs the Sheruts were all MBs

If we extend that then there are very few places a Jew can visit in the World that at 1 time or other didnt in some way attack Us as a People. Lets see for Europe that means not going to England,Spain,France,Switzerland,Austria,Germany,Italy,Greece,Turkey, I guess that also means not flying on their airlines as well, then of cause Eastern Europe and Russia, alot of South Am took in the Nazis after WWII so theyre out as well. Lets not forget Portugal. then today Norway,Sweeden, Denmark,Finland are very pro Arab I guess they are out as well. So I guess we still have Canada , Mex and Israel and the US. I think NOT

You obviously really don't get it.
Yes we are in golus but my grandfathers ###s are still clearly visible.

Would you be happy if a good friend went to a hotel in which you were treated really badly.  I don't know how to dumb this down anymore.

Follow your heart.

I think that there are still plenty of people out there who won't drive German cars and will not fly Lufthansa. I am proud to sayt hat I'd never visit Germany. Especially while there are still plenty of the SOB's alive and kicking.
