As of August 1st, adults (18 and over) will be administered Moderna vaccines (except if previously received one dose of Pfizer). Pfizer vaccines will be administered to teenagers between the ages of 12 and 18.

Why? What happened to the cushy relationship with Bourla/Pfizer?

Pretty sure this was already posted here.

I had a few nephews on respirators a few months ago from RSV

I don’t have the data in front of me, but RSV likely has much lower mortality for patients on ventilators vs. COVID.

Is this good or bad news?

Seemingly good news because the same immune response that slows the progression to severe for patients that progress to that, stops many other patients from even getting there.

Still way too early to call it IMO. Many early screening cancers for example take years until they impact mortality numbers.

Doubt those numbers will move the needle. At this point in the game COVID restrictions (masks, border control, restrictions on large events) put 0 limits on early detection of cancer.

Additionally, in places like Sweden where they have few-to-no restrictions, hospitals overwhelmed due to COVID would also limit early detection of cancer, just at a different (later) period of time.

Wasn't just CY consumers. Pareve products are very valuable in every kosher household.

Indeed. Indeed. Cholent comes to mind.  ;D

Cholent as a product sounds oxymoronic

Tech Talk / Re: Transferring Contacts To New Phone - Help
« on: July 20, 2021, 08:07:34 PM »
Had a 3G Phone with i bluetoothed all 300 contacts to another 4g flip phone, now when trying to import them all they all came as a separate vcf file so this is where this site came in to merge them and all and worked like a charm, saving me the time from needing to click import for all 300 contacts.

Saved to a folder, tried following what they recommended and put in c and then wrote contacts or whatever name on the file and then hit enter and then put the next command in like they mentioned and they merged to one big file, was really cool.
These cdm commands are one neat feature that a computer has, wouldn't mind taking a course on this.

 Here's what i followed.

If you like windows command prompt check out its big brother, PowerShell.

That’s a basic script that combines copied the contents of each vCard into one long file, basically the equivalent of opening in NotePad and copy/paste.

If someone has dates I can give a price. I can't post a full calendar.

So please post an example for your lowest and highest rate. Hiding your pricing behind the fact that it varies is grounds for your post being removed.

If I placed 2 seperate orders on 2 different accounts and used my address as 14 and 14A would my orders get cancelled?

They made some recent changes and it’s possible they also recently switched how they flag orders as duplicate/same household, so I’m not sure anyone can say. It would be helpful if you reported back either way.

How do you reconcile this with what seems to be shorter severity length (based on new severe cases vs total severe cases)?

I might be mistaken. Anyway, average time from positive to severe might be longer, but the person will be in severe classification for less time due to better/faster outcomes for vaccinated patients, and/or better treatment protocols compared to Alpha.

Idk what the definition for severe is, but let’s say it’s OxSat below a certain number, if the person isn’t going to be on a ventilator for weeks (maintaining severe status) then the average severe time will be shorter because it’s patients who cross the threshold for a short time.

Why is this ?

Pretty sure I saw data supporting this in a tweet shared on DDF (probably by PG). Like I explained, these patients mount an immune response that tries to stave off the infection, so it takes longer for the infection to progress.

After removing testing upon arrival requirements for vaccinated or antibody-positive travelers a few weeks ago, Iceland will now require a negative test before departure due to the Delta variant.

As long as it stops there, that's manageable.

Is this like RSV now that get treated for two days and go home recovered?

For vaccinated patients who R"L progress to severe, the progress is actually likely slower than it would have been if they weren't vaccinated, with their immune system struggling to overcome the infection and prolonging its development.

Dead

Considering it was so easy, that took a while. I guess it's the "3-per-household" limit

If Yad Lachim can get one of the women married to a multi Billionaire they can also get their own reality TV show.

They'd never have to fundraise again :D

I'm not going to get into a discussion about this, but regardless B&J makes non dairy ice cream.

The non-dairy varieties are very hard to find IME, maybe I’m looking in the wrong stores.
