American Express has majorly bungled the $250 business card promo.

According to what they told me, they originally had major problems with all applications coming in from the $250 promo, and they were never processed.

Lucky for us the $250 promo is still live!

So how do you know if your application was processed or not?

Use the Amex Status Checker Linky and check if you see the application.
If you applied for it when I originally posted the deal back on the 18th and it’s still not there then your application was never processed and you should apply again.

I can confirm that if you apply for a card now through the $250 link it will work (At least it did for me when a reapplied yesterday!)
It can take about 24-48 hours for the application to show up in the status checker.

A charge card must be paid in full each month, before the next statement is issued. A credit card does not.

2. Can I apply for more than 1 of the cards?
Yes, you can apply for all 4 in fact!

3. If I apply for the $300/year card, will Amex pro-rate the annual fee if I cancel it?
Yes, if you cancel it then the annual fee will be divided over the months you had it. If you apply for the business platinum $300/year card and cancel it after 6 months you will get back $150 for the annual fee, in addition to the $250 you already got.

4. If I already have the delta amex card, I understand that I wont receive the miles as you only get it once but will I receive the 250 dollars???

I got a letter in the mail last week telling me that Chase will not give me the bonus miles for my most recent 25,000/$250 United Consumer Visa Card because I have already received the bonus in the past.

This is no big surprise-I have been predicting the end of the churn for some time now…

(Before i get 5 emails asking what is churning cards, it is the process of opening and closing the same credit card multiple times.)

However this move leaves more questions then answers at this point.

Unknowns:
1. Is this the end of churning only for the United consumer card, or also for the business card?

2. Can the 20,000 mile United cards, which don’t require a $250 purchase still be churned?

3. How long will it be before other Chase cards(Continental) can no longer be churned?

4. How long will it be before Citi cards(AA) can no longer be churned?

Bottom Line:
Whatever to the answers to these questions are, there is no doubt that this gravy train is coming to an end…
