Spirit is having one of their crazy sales now. In order to get the advertised price you have to join the $9 fare club (which costs $40/year) or have the Spirit credit card. However even if you don’t you only pay a $9 penalty each way to get in on the sale.

This is a great price for the only nonstop flights to Hawaii from the NYC area. It cuts the 15 hour journey to paradise down to 10 hours. Best of all Continental still provides free meals (and even kosher ones on longer domestic flights if you ask for it) in coach on domestic flights. I flew from Chicago-Honolulu nonstop earlier this year on United and all they had was some junk food available for purchase!
