This is the cheapest ticket that I’ve ever seen from NYC in monitoring fares to Brazil for the past 5 years.

This fare is too low to earn double elite miles on Delta, but it will earn double elite miles on Continental where the promotion applies to all fares.

Valid for travel from now through 12/11/09

It is valid from LGA, JFK, or Newark.

The $446 fare is for the Newark-Sao Paulo nonstop flight. Other flights with a connection will be slightly higher.

You can use Continental’s +/- 3 day function to search for the fare.

The base fare is $354+tax.

If you fly via on Continental from Newark to Sao Paulo nonstop you will earn 9,516 miles. Via Houston you will earn 12,606 base miles. Continental also currently has a 500 mile online booking bonus.

For travel to Sao Paulo via Houston, with the current double elite qualifying miles running through 06/15/09 you would earn 25,212 EQM’s, more than enough for elite status through 02/11.

For travel to Rio de Janeiro via Houston, with the current double elite qualifying miles running through 06/15/09 you would earn 25,728 EQM’s, more than enough for elite status.

Southwest has finally got their hands on some highly prized LGA slots!

Effective 06/28 Southwest will fly 5 daily flights to Chicago/MDW and 3 daily flights to Baltimore with connecting flights from those 2 hubs to the rest of the country.

One way flights to/from Baltmore are $49+ and Chicago are $89. Flights to many other cities countrywide, including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and more are just $99+ each way.

Southwest LGA Introductory Sale Linky

Southwest will fly out of gate B4 in LGA’s central terminal.

Southwest charges significantly less fees than other airlines, including no fees for up to 2 checked bags per person, and no fees for changing or canceling tickets.

Hawaiian is offering guaranteed $43 fares on nonstop interisland flights in Hawaii.  It’s valid as long as there’s a single open seat on the flight!

Last year Jetblue canceled the service before the scheduled start date due to rising fuel costs.

Jetblue is the 6th carrier to offer nonstop service between LAX and the NYC market, (the incumbents are AA, Continental, Delta, United, and Virgin America) and is the only to fly the route without a first class.
