If you are using gmail, look in the Promotions tab of your inbox. It drove me crazy for a little while, wondering why I did not get them, until I found them there.

Even if you get multiples, I think CitiBike is tied to the credit card that you swipe to take out the bike.

@clowns, if u post the zip code you live in, I can help you find a local pharmacy.
If experiences with other people like u, they won’t ask you for insurance, they’ll just give you stay you need.

@Yossi: It is free for the first 30 minutes only, after that you will get charged and it adds up quickly, so be aware! We did this in Belgium and ended up with a $40 charge for the bike for the day, at that point you might as well go to a bike rental place and get one for the day

Sruly

Usage Fees
Passes include unlimited 30-minute rides.
The first 30 minutes of each ride are included in the pass price. If you keep a bike out for longer than 30 minutes at a time, it’s an extra $4 for each additional 15 minutes.

To avoid additional usage fees, keep your rides to 30 minutes each. Take as many rides as you want while your pass is active!

chana k

You are able to just ‘check in’ your bike and immediately take it out again for another 30 min.

yitzyk

Do I need to use a different credit card with each free pass, or can I use them all with the same card?

yitzyk

I found the likely answer to my question on that link that Yossi posted (I had read it previously, but it did not mention coupon codes.) It is my assumption that a Day Pass and these gift codes are equivalent:

Q: Can I purchase a new pass with the same credit card before my current pass expires?

A: No, you can’t purchase a new pass using the same credit card while you still have an active pass. If you purchased a Day Pass and wanted to buy a second Day Pass before the first pass expired, you would have to use a different credit or debit card.

Also of interest:

Q: Do I have to wear a helmet?

A: In New Jersey, it is the law that cyclists under the age of 17 wear a helmet while riding. In New York, cyclists over the age of 13 are not required to wear a bike helmet, but it is always recommended for riders of all ages. Helmets have been proven to greatly reduce the risk of head injury in an accident.
