Please bear in mind that consumer reports did testing on these models and found that there is a structural weakness with the harness in the forward facing position (granted that they tested it in more extreme situations then the government standards). I followed the DansDeals link and ordered the Performance Ride Car Seat & the Performance Sport Booster Seat. I paid in full on the website & got a copy of my paid invoice with the order #. Today Burlington emailed:

“Thank you for your recent order. We regret to inform you that the items below are no longer available on our website and cannot be shipped to you. Your account has been adjusted and no charges will appear for these unavailable items.”

Can they do this? The items were bought and paid for! Has anyone else gotten this e-mail?

As I said in the post, the consumer reports test is done in a more intense fashion then the NHTSA. Just letting the readers on the site know that this particular model was the only one out of 30 car seats tested that failed their test. They currently do not recommend that consumers buy this particular model from Recaro. You can read the article over here for yourself and make your own decision.
