The rates will be the same as on the hotel website and the rates do qualify for hotel elite status and points. Note that the 4th night of the stay will be the rebated night. In some cases the 4th night may cost significantly more or less than the rest of the nights, so always check to see the actual rate for each night. There is no limit to how many times you can take advantage of this offer. You need to use your Prestige card, but you get triple points for hotel spending, so that’s not a bad thing.

Getting more than one Citi card and repeat bonuses:

Citibank doesn’t generally allow 2BMs anymore, though some people have reported success. You can apply for one card, wait 8 days, and then apply for another Citi card. You would have to wait 60 days from the date of your first card application before you can apply for a 3rd Citi card and 60 days from the date of your second card application before you can apply for a 4th Citi card.

Most Citi card applications now require an 24 month waiting period from when you last had that exact card before you can get the signup bonus again.

Citi phone reconsideration (888-201-4523) can be tough if denied, but many people (myself included) have had great luck reconsidering via snail mail! Just write a short letter explaining why you want the card to: Mr. Ken Stork, Office of the President, PO Box 6000, Sioux Falls, SD 57117

@aaron Ken Stork is the pen name on direct mail offers, he was (and possibly still is) really an employee of Citi, but he never was “President of Citi” – afaik, that title doesn’t exist. The leader and CEO of Citi Cards is Jud Linville.

Chaim

It’s been years since I have seen you post about citi and capitalone cards I am happy about it since I don’t need to search other places for information on them

Jay

Did Dan just write something positive about capital One?

Redbull3

You know the low hanging fruit is gone when we are excited about a $4.5k/$500 Capital One offer :/

VM

Capital one has had these offers for about 2 years. Why are you saying limited time offer?!

Guda

Any of these good for a first time CC?

I have a Chase Sapphire preferred card and I would like to use the Ultimate Rewards for a flight to Israel. I’d like to sign up for another credit card and get a sign-up bonus which I can use together with my ultimate rewards. Which card/airline would you recommend?

shay peleg

Dan I had a platinum delta can I get a gold delta now? or not

Go Cubbies

Dan – can you please explain why you doubled some of these benefits for the first year? (i.e. 6 free rounds of golf and $500 worth of airline statement credit in the first year?) As you wrote “In your first cardmembership year you can get $250 back in 2016 and $250 back in 2017, which more than covers the annual fee.” Thanks.

Dan

@Go Cubbies:
Since those benefits are per calendar year if you keep the card for just 1 year and get each of those benefits twice in that cardmembership year.

Avi

Hi Dan
My family is planning a Bar Mitzvah in Israel next year. We need a bunch of hotel rooms for 4 nights in a row. Does my Citi Prestige give only 1 night free per booking or would I get the free 4th night for the entire booking for multiple rooms or only one free night on one booking?
Thanks!

Go Cubbies

Dan,

I just applied for Citi Prestige card last night with the 50k Thank You Pts offer. My application is currently pending but now I see there are some changes to the card benefits where Admirals access is being discontinued as of 6/20/2017. I dont know if there are any other changes but where do I stand should my application be approved? Do I need to get them on the phone to approve my CC before the changes take effect tomorrow? Are you aware of what else if anything is changing with this offer?

CUBS FAN

Dan,

How much is each Citi Thank You point valued at? What is the straight redemption rate for airlines and hotels (without co-mingling other benefits associated with this card)?
