Amazon Prime is awesome. Ordered something a couple of hours before shabbos using overnight ($3.99) and it was there when i returned from shule on shabbos day.
It managed to get from the amazon warehouse into a box, travel 800 Miles and end up at my door in just over 15 Hours!

From T&C:
“To sign up for and use Amazon Student, you must (1) have an Amazon.com account, (2) be a college student actively enrolled in at least one course at a college geographically located in one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia, (3) be able to provide proof of enrollment upon request and (4) have a valid e-mail address that contains the domain suffix .edu. We may accept or refuse membership in our sole discretion. We may ask you to furnish documentation supporting your eligibility. If you do not provide documentation indicating that you meet the eligibility requirements above, you may be required to reimburse us for benefits you received as a result of your Amazon Student membership.”

@sam, MIKE
Have either of you actually done that? Because I tried about a year ago, and the only email I ever got from them was saying that my account is being decided, but givig a $20 “donation” would up the odds tremendously.

@sam: Thx. Signed up at australia.edu
I got:
An administrator is reviewing your account for approval. Due to increased demand there may be a delay in approving your email account, priority is however given to users who donate $20.00 or more for this service. To donate, please click the donate button to the left
Hopefully this will work before offer expires.

I think australia.edu is a scam. I tried a few times and got that message about reviewing my account and 20$ “donation” would give me faster review. I have not yet been aproved and its been months. I would like to know if anyone has actualy gotten the edu address from them with or without the 20$ “donation” or is this a scam? Please advise!

@mushka: I have Australia.edu account and it works fine. Didn’t pay the $20 for account, either.
Started free account about 10 years ago but 5 years later, after not logging in awhile, it wouldn’t accept my password, saying I had to reset via email address I used to register (which I no longer had!). Tried contacting admin several times, but no response. Finally my username dropped from their system, so I tried to start new account, even using different usernames. Some glitch wouldn’t let me submit info.
Last year, I tried AGAIN. Application process went through easily, and my old username was even available! Though I did have to wait over a month for “approval”. Without paying $20. That I recall, I never got an email saying I was approved. I just kept checking their website to see if I could log in. Though still @Australia.edu addresses, their email now generates through Google Mail, so more reliable. And, I’ve noticed, eliminated the daily spam the old system had!

It’s showing it’s only for 6 months now. Any other leads on getting an edu address?
