Get An 80% Point Bonus When Purchasing Hilton Points through 02/08.
144,000 points would cost $800 (0.55 cents per point).

Hilton normally sells points for 1 cent each, which drops to .55 cents with this promotion.

If you need more points you can open another Hilton accounts in your name and then merge the accounts via this link.

As far as the potential value, take the Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem, probably the nicest hotel in the entire country. Rates can run $500 or more night (plus 18% VAT for locals). However it’s just 64K points per night with a 5 night stay for Hilton elites or 80K points per night without a 5 night stay.
When buying points for 0.55 cents each that’s $352 per night on a 5 night stay or $440 per night without a 5 night stay.

Hilton cardholders get Hilton Silver status and Hilton Reserve cardholders get Hilton Gold status (or top-tier Diamond status if they spend $40K/year on their credit card). Plus Hilton Reserve cardholders get 2 free nights as the signup bonus as well.

AMEX Platinum cardholders also get Hilton Gold status.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem last year where we were treated to a fantastic daily breakfast, which is free for Hilton Gold and Diamond members. There is a mind-boggling quantity of awesome kosher food there, from dozens of daily hot dishes to hard cheeses, fresh fruits and pastries to fresh squeezed juices, as well as on-demand dishes like french toast, pancakes, waffles, and eggs. Unlimited wine, hot or cold chocolate drinks, and espresso drinks are included as well!

With a breakfast like this you may not even be hungry for dinner…

Joel

Can you breakdown the math for me ?
How do you get 144,000 at 55cents each point for just $800?!

math wiz

@Joel

it is .55 cents each, not 55.

.55×144,000= 792

Mordy

@Joel:
Its pretty complicated math (division )$800/144,000=$.55

JL

Its $792
144,000 x 0.0055 = $792

emak

Or you could’ve easily got Diamond via status match recently.

David

does Hilton allow cash and points?

yair

unlimited wine with breakfast? Now that’s classy.

yankel

@David: they do have the option but not always available and i dont think at every property

Josh

I cannot seem to find 5 or 7 reward nights at the Grand Wailea or Waldorf Jerusalem for the next year.

yitz

what was the hechsher on the food?

RebYid

“64K points per night with a 5 night stay for Hilton elites”
What is Hilton elite?

Dave

Hilton Elite just means Diamond, Gold, and maybe even Silver status. Rate is 80K/night, but 5th night is free if you have elite status, thus averaging out to 64K.

chaim

according to most possum in Israel and according to the hashgacha that most people fro orthodox circles hold of ( chasm sofer/ Badatz eider chareidus/ rabbanut mehadran) the waldorf is highly not recommended food wise neither is david citadel on sukkos and pesach they usually bring it up to par but not during the year

Dan

@chaim:
Did you actually do the research?
They only use mehadrin food, shmita l’chumra, period.

DAN 4 PREZ

@Dan:
What did you end up getting as Diamond status?
Were they kind enough to upgrade your room to a suite?
I have a reservation coming up using this promotion in April… and upgrades to Diamond Status from one of your recent posts. Just curious to whether they act like all the other Hiltons with generous upgrades, or being in Israel changes everything… if you know what i mean.

alyssa t KAPLAN

ritz carlton herzilia was better foodwise…

Don't buy

This doesn’t make sense for most people, especially not for the Waldorf Astoria jerusalem.
1) why buy points now at .55 cents on the chance you may be able to get that value back later?
Generally Hilton points are worth less than a half a cent each
2) you can get a nice chunk off paid rates by using corporate codes
3) many travel agents can get you good deals there
4) you’re almost always better off staying on a paid rate vs. Points in regards to room type and upgrades.

Yes you may find a good deal at a certain hotel but in general this isn’t a good deal for most.

J

@alyssa t KAPLAN: I was at both, the variety of food offerings at Waldorf far exceeded Ritz, to me, you can’t even compare, I can’t think of any breakfast item Waldorf didn’t offer.
