How does this compare to the i5 being sold on Black Friday http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/Dell-Inspiron-15-i5558-5718SLV-Signature-Edition-Laptop/productID.328882600
Which is a better deal?
I bought the one on Black Friday it was $399 $50 less:
It said 5.25 pounds & I can tell you it felt very heavy.
This one lists @5.73 & the reviews all mention how heavy it feels.
Not sure what is making it heavier as the are both practically the same except:
Intel Core i5-4210U 1.70 GHz with Turbo Boost Technology up to 2.70 GHz vs Intel Core i5-5250U 1.60 GHz with Turbo Boost Technology up to 2.70 GHz
& Intel HD Graphics 4400 with shared graphics memory vs Intel HD Graphics 6000 with shared graphics memory.
If you do not care about heaviness then its practically the same.
Not a computer guy but the 2 differences look miniscule to me & its only $50 more.
It seems like the $450 one has a 5th generation processor, while the $400 one has a 4th generation.
Is that something to spend an extra $50 on?
I thought I5 meant both r 5th Generation? To the non expert is this like comparing Sports cars going 0 to 60 in 3.3 second or 3.4 seconds?
Todays is a newer processor Processor
Intel Core i5-5250U 1.60 GHz with Turbo Boost Technology up to 2.70 GHz
Vs.
ntel Core i5-4210U 1.70 GHz with Turbo Boost Technology up to 2.70 GHz
@thingy: Is it worth the 50 bucks?
What does that really mean? Will I see any diff they seem practically the same except that the 399 one is fourth generation but can someone explain exactly what that means, I understand fifth is newer prob a bit faster, but will I who doesn’t know much about computers a general home user feel or see any diff? The black Friday one seemed like a great deal to me until I noticed this one ? Can anybody say if it’s good enough , great or so so….??? Thanks
