@Yaakov: UPDATE: they got me a court date… in a YEAR’s time. (!). That means even if they loose the case, I saved a years insurance hike (The hike is for 4 years of the incident, not the verdict, and goes into effect only if we lose). So far, so good!
False. DMV looks to suspend license from date of incident, ( in 18 month increments). Insurance looks at date of conviction. Personal experience here in NYC.
They got me a court date…. in a YEAR’s time!

I went online to fight it, I had to “select” a hearing date.
It only gave me one option to “choose” from; in a year from now.
Lots can happen between now and then.

@Eliezer: I use Zalman Liberow for parking tickets. I must have used him over 10 times (I work in Brooklyn with alternate side parking) and he was successful about 90% of the time. He charges half the amount of the ticket (if he is successful).

Most of the time only 2 points follow your ticket back to your home state – no matter how many points the offense is.

My Tickets NYC is not the same as the other guys. They have traffic attorneys going to all the fine boros and NJ and upstate. It is not about just postponing the hearing, it is about the experience of the attorney in each courtroom and his being able to discern when is a good time to move forward with the hearing. As for the price: each ticket is different, it depends on the speed, the courtroom, the offense… Give them a call for a free consultation. I’m glad I did.

Not true chana k, it depends on the state, and even if, most of the states share traffic violation info, so your offense will be visible in your home state too.

I used My Tickets for two tickets within six months. One was a speeding ticket where I was legitimately speeding so was pretty fair; the other was a stop sign that was totally bogus. Since this was NYC (Queens South), the facts don’t usually make much of a difference and it is difficult to get out of them.
My Tickets managed to delay both hearings for an incredibly long time (I think roughly 18 months and 24 months). The Speeding was not successful, but they did manage to get me off the Stop sign. I found them incredibly helpful and obviously am very grateful as I would have had massive insurance increases and Driver Assessment fees etc. etc.
Anyone can push tickets off for a long time, the question is their success rate at dismissal.

Bring a video on a tablet for viewing. Also bring still photos for the judge to review. They might not want to watch the video. Print out 20 pix in a row showing what happened.

The sad part of this story, that there is ZERO accountability from the police side for wasting me a whole day in court!!!
ya it stinks, but my wife printed out photos and brought in detailed info and the judge actually appreciated the effort she put into it. The more details you have, the less the cop will have on you and will start to backtrack on what they said. Hopefully ending in dismissal. thats what happened to my wife. The cop “forgot” to mention that there was a fence blocking his view, but the pictures proved it.
I know a guy who got a ticket in NYC for using a handheld cellphone while driving. His defense was he has video from his cellphone that he was NOT using his phone while driving. Pshhh… bad joke
