many

frontier has $50 tickets through jan

Billy

@many: They also have baggage fees up the wazoo and you need to pay extra to select a seat 😛

iahphx

AA has also again loaded some cheap MIA-PHL seats. I just bought one for $54 for January. I’m sure it’s a very limited availability offer aimed at driving Frontier off the route.

Ari

Is there any way to book a seat for a minor?

Dan

@Ari:
Just book them as adults.

Anonymous

I’m trying to book I’m not getting this price $68

Den

@iahphx: what dates did you book Phl to Miami?

Anonymous

JAN 20 TO JAN 31

Fl vacay

I’m trying to book tickets from JFK to PBI from Nov 22 return Nov 29. The cheapest tickets I saw was $98.10 and returning is over $200.00 please help! I tried using different browsers and clearing cookies.

Burry

Thank you. Booked on AA.com 1/11-1/13 2 RT $272.40. Used AA gift cards courtesy of AMEX!

Anonymous

I didn’t see fares cheaper than $98 each way.

Yos

Is it still a deal using delta miles?

Dan

@Anonymous:
If you would post which date you search that didn’t work it would be more helpful.

@Yos:
Not at these prices, save the miles for when flights are expensive.

Dan's the Man

@Dan:

Dan, I realize you always try to get the most bang per mile but if someone has Delta miles that they want to use up it’s not a bad idea to use them for this using the pay with miles group. 10K miles would reduce the roundtrip cost by $100 so you’d just be paying $36 for a roundtrip. It’s a better deal than paying 25K Delta, United, or American miles + $11.20. It’s even a better deal than Avios which would be 15K miles + $11.20.

I know there would be a lot more “value” in flying US to Europe on Delta lie flat seats (assuming you could find with saver availability) but if someone is looking for flights NYC to Miami for winter and doesn’t want to pay out of pocket and is looking to use points this is a good idea. I’m not 100% sure but I believe you may need to have a Delta Amex credit card to have the option to pay with miles.

Dan

@Dan’s the Man:
You can sell your Delta miles for much more than 1cpm.

@Fl vacay:
That’s hysterical. Clearing your cookies to see dates? Which amex page have you been reading that you got the idea that clearing your cookies makes deals magically appear? Piece of advice, try plugging in Dan’s dates instead (he gets them from a top secret source that no one else has access to, called “The Internet”). You’ll do better that way.

Mendy

Thanks Dan!
Booked for the end of February, just to get some warm weather.

Burry

Just contacted 1 of the big boys. Delta skymiles .9cpm for 50k+ and 1.0cpm for 100k+.
just sayin’

Dan

@Burry:
That’s a ripoff.

@Burry: That’s terrible. Good thing you have Dan here, or you might have thought that that’s normal. The miles buying and selling business is cutthroat and extremely manipulative. Everyone is looking to take advantage, especially since as apposed to most consumer items, there are many people that have many of them and are clueless as to their value. It’s a pretty gray market, so it’s very hard for the uninitiated to find out what they’re normally sold for. I get upset every time i hear about a naive person taken advantage of, and blissfully oblivious that he was taken for a ride. I never know if i should say “that’s great”, or tell them in case they do it again. Good thing Dan told you about their value before you sold or used them.

Rediplus

Also CLE Miami direct is 89 and JetBlue coming back
