Wow! I am surprised to see a Spirit deal posted here.
The flight I was looking for was available with this this sale but then I found availability as well with Avios, I decided to stick with the Avios route.

AA doesn’t charge for seat assignment, water/soda, carry-on, and there’s a free checked bag with an AA card. Could be competitive when using Avios.
It’s not only the charges for everything.
Do you know what happens if they cancel your flight? Or if you need to cancel or change for any reason whatsoever?
I think it is just not worth the perceived savings! Even if it were cheaper with Travel insurance with cancel for any reason rider!

It was DTW- LGA on 10/7 for 4500 Avios. Like Dan said after free bags,Free seat assignments, free drinks, and peace of mind, I come out ahead.
AA now cheaper just booked succos to nyc ord for 150

Sometimes I wonder how people who post such absurd comments can be allowed on this site. There should be a special site for those who think Dan is their personal assistant or travel agent, or for those who have trouble reading.

your comment mentions a free piece of luggage with Avios if you have an AA credit card.I have been told in the past by AA that an Avios ticket is not eligible for a free bag even with the AA card. Who’s right?
