With Daily Getaways you can purchase discounted travel packages, but you have to be really quick. At 1pm EDT every weekday from now through April 22nd there is a new offering.
The best deals will sell out in seconds, so you need to be waiting on the page at 12:59pm and refreshing the page. Be sure to have a Hilton number handy.
There are 3 Hilton packages that will be available to purchase at 1pm:
You can buy 1 of each package per Hilton account. All packages effectively price points at 0.5 cents each.
There are some decent values to be had at some Hilton properties.
The Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem is easily the finest hotel you’ll find in Israel. The kosher breakfast is included with all rooms and is the stuff that dreams are made of. A room from June 30-July 5 would set you back $3,750 at $750 per night. You need a whopping 80K points per night, but thanks to 5th night free on awards 5 nights would set you back 320K points. That’s a value of 1.17 cents per point.
Of course the hotel isn’t always that expensive, the rates range between $450-$800 per night depending on the season.
If you were to buy 80K points at 0.5 cents each that would make the effective cost per night $400. If you buy 320K points at 0.5 cents each for 5 nights that would make the effective cost per night $320.
It’s worth noting that the David Citadel opened as the Hilton Jerusalem but within a few years they grew tired of the royalty payments due to Hilton and they left the chain. Similar things have happened to others chains in Jerusalem such the Sheraton Plaza and the Hyatt, so don’t just hoard onto points for stays years into the future if your only goal is the Waldorf Jerusalem.
And while Hilton points have been heavily devalued recently, there’s nothing stopping them from devaluing their points further.

So $575 (surpass annual fee) and 2 credit hits gets you 5 nights at Waldorf Probably an upgrade if not that busy since Gold from AMEX –
I stayed this past summer and I received 2 drinks per day for being gold and an upgrade.

I bought 100K. If I get to use it a the Waldorf again great if not I stay at the TLV Hilton a lot which is a great hotel and you can ususally get it on cash + points for 28,000 + $150.

@Dan: I meant there is an 18% per room per night charge for service fees,taxes comes out over 100$/night

There is tax of 18 % if u r paying for the room that us who the 4/5 night reward stay is totally worth it!
