Last July I wrote about Amazon offering Prime members a $1 instant video credit for choosing no-rush shipping instead of 2 day shipping.

At first they were offering the $1 credit on all items, though then they got smart and started only offering it on items that cost at least $1.01.

In September I wrote how the program had changed to a $1 book and eBook credit.

Then in November Amazon changed it to $1 eBooks, digital music, and Amazon instant video credit.  Those credits will either expire between 03/31/15, 04/30/15, or 05/04/15 depending on when you placed your no-rush order.  Check your email confirmation of the credit for your expiration dates.

Now Amazon is shaking things up again.

Every time a Prime member places an order from Amazon that costs at least $6.01 you will earn a $5.99 credit towards anything sold from Amazon Prime Pantry.

Just change from the default 2 day shipping option and select no-rush shipping on your prime eligible $6.01+ order at checkout:

Amazon prime pantry sells everyday household goods at discounted prices.  Every item sold by Amazon Prime Pantry takes up a given percentage of a large pantry box and Amazon charges a flat $5.99 shipping rate for each pantry box.  You must have Amazon Prime to take advantage of Prime Pantry pricing.

Amazon Pantry also runs promotions, such as this limited time offer to get your pantry box shipped free if you add 3 items from this page.

The $5.99 Prime Pantry credits will post to your account after your items ship.  You will get an email when your credit posts to your account.

Credits earned now will expire 05/31/15.

You only get one $5.99 credit per Amazon order that you place, so remember to break up your orders so that they are as close to $6.01 each as you can get.

You can use one $5.99 credit per Prime Pantry order that you place.

You can get a free trial of Amazon Prime here. A prime trial is also free with Amazon Mom (which also gets you 20% off diapers among other benefits) or Amazon Student.  Or you can always share Amazon prime for a fraction of the regular cost in this DDF thread!

Amazon offers free shipping with $35+ orders or get free next-day shipping on all orders with a free trial of Amazon Prime. Prime members can share benefits with a Household member here, allowing them to double up on Amazon Prime promos!  A 6 month trial and discounted Prime membership is available with Amazon Student. EBT/Medicaid Cardholders can save on Prime Membership here.

Sola

Is this only for new credit earned, or can I apply No-Rush credits I already got?

mike

can i purchase gift cards?

Chaim

“A maximum of $5.99 per Prime Pantry order can be redeemed from this Offer”

Anonymous

Very confusing!
Hey Dan any seminars coming up for Passover in Florida ?

Dan

@Sola:
New credit only.

@mike:
No.

@Chaim:
Indeed 🙁

@Anonymous:
No.

DanT

dan: off topic, but can I but a gift card from an online grocery store to top off the 1500 limit on this quarters 5x bonus for UR?

BT

Doesn’t work for GC because prime isn’t offered

Chaim

it also looks like it will only deduct the $5.99 from the shipping charge, no?

So if I would use it with the promo you mentioned woul it work?

“This is a shipping offer related to your Prime subscription; it is not a discount on items purchased”

Dan

@DanT:
Depends how the purchase is categorized.

@Chaim:
No, the old terms for the video said the same thing,

https://www.amazon.com/gp/shipoptions/promotions/details?ie=UTF8&nodeID=terms_and_conditions

“Digital content and services may only be available to customers located in the U.S. and are subject to the terms and conditions of Amazon Digital Services, Inc. This is a shipping offer related to your Prime subscription; it is not a discount on items purchased.”

I.E. It’s a shipping offer on the items fro the original order. It’s not a discount on items from the original order.

Nu

No option to change shipping on my phone, nor when I request full website.

Tom

@Dan – how confident are we that these credits will stack on 1 prime pantry order (greater than $6 obviously)

Tom

Do we know if multiple credits will stack?

sf

Dan, you got this wrong. It’s only a $5.99 credit against the shipping cost of the box. It’s not an additional credit that you can use for your next Prime Pantry purchase.

jack

it doesn’t give me the option to change shipping method!!

trevor

Thanks Dan! Worked very easily.

Dan

@Tom:
It won’t stack more than one per order.

@sf:
Why do you think that it can’t be used in conjunction with a free prime pantry shipping promo to get $5.99 off the products?

dg

just tried it.. the option for Free- No Rush Shipping did not appear… is the offer dead?

ben

It’s funny how they introduce this when it is less than 2 weeks to pesach.

Turgutbey

So are the eBook/video credits no longer offered. I think I prefered that.

Chaim

It’s not giving me an option on shipping… Only the standard flat rate………………..

Dan1

I also have only one option for shipping. Evidence here:

Dan

@Dan1:
The no-rush shipping option is for regular Amazon purchases, not for Prime Pantry items!

Dan1

Oooh. I see. Thanks!

mb1

the major downside is that they are not offering the $1 no-rush shipping option for orders that total less then $6.01 🙁

whYME

Is there any way to see my no-rush credits balance and expiration dates?

ray

Remember they charge $5.99 per box shipping so this basically equates to free shipping on pantry

Dan

@ray:
I wrote about a way to get free shipping in the post.

whYME

@Dan:
TY!

Mark

Is this a new feature of Amazon Prime? Or is this a limited time promotion?
If so when does it end?

yy

I’m not impressed with the prices for Prime Pantry. Has anybody found prices that are better than supermarket or discount store sale prices?

sruly

My emails all say they expire May 4 ?

cholentfresser

I just realized I have around $50 of these ebooks credits expiring today. Anyone have any suggestions to make good use of them? I’ve never ordered any ebooks or downloaded any music or videos before.

thx

Thenewguy

@cholentfresser: hi CholentHead. Are you seriously expecting an answer?

yada

@Thenewguy:

Why not? I have the same question. Looking for recommendations from a group of people I respect and in theory share some similar interests with…

Dan

There’s lots of jewish music available.

Thenewguy

@Dan: true but we both know that’s not what he was asking lol

Alpicone

Anyway to tell out of the current balance which credit expire today and which expire on future dates?

Does Amazon use LIFO or FIFO for these credits?

Amazon dash

Anyone check out Amazon dash? It looks fake, like an April fools joke

Thenewguy

@Amazon dash: its not fake. All over the news

Max

There is a flat delivery fee of $5.99 for each Prime Pantry box. so basically this gives you free shipping…

cholentfresser

Is there any way to use these credits to purchase movies for future viewing?

mowaca

Hey everyone, this promotion doesn’t work like the “video” credits – I actually complained to Amazon and they told me its just for shipping. The next day or two the terms were clarified that the promotion is only for shipping and its one per order.

So you can either use one of these credits per order for free shipping, or you can order three or more free shipping items and get free shipping and it doesn’t use your credits. Unlike the mp3/video credits which were somewhat flexible, the only thing this does is reduce your prime pantry shipping cost from $5.99 to $0.

Dan, can you change your post? I collected 8 of these credits which I don’t think I’ll be using by 5/31!
