Update: Starwood has changed The Royal Palm from a category 5 to a category 6.
————————————————————
Currently the only Starwood hotel in South Beach is the category 7 W Hotel.

The Royal Palm Miami-South Beach joins Starwood tomorrow as part of the SPG Luxury Collection.

While the lowest paid rate for tomorrow night is $559+tax=$657, it is just a category 5 property, so you can redeem just 12,000 Starpoints for the room. On a 5 night stay it would be just 9.6K Starpoints per night.

It’s located on 15th and Collins, just half a block from the Hyatt Centric South Beach that will be opening within the next few months.

Unlike the Hyatt, the Royal Palm is located on the ocean side of Collins Avenue.

The Aloft South Beach is accepting reservations beginning June 11th.

It too will be a category 5 property, however it will not be on the ocean side of Collins.  On June 11th the lowest rate for a room there is $309+tax=$349.

Always good to have more points accepting hotels in Miami Beach!
