Will this work in Israel?

@Anonymous:
Yes.

Mick

could I sell the phone and use the prime membership, or is prime linked to the phone?

MordyNY

When do you get the Prime? It doesn’t show anything at checkout

One caveat about the Fire Phone: It does not include Google’s Play Store app, so you cannot easily add any apps found there. You have to stick with apps from Amazon’s (much smaller) app store, unless you are comfortable ‘sideloading’ apps.

From c|net: “Starbucks and Foursquare both require Google Play Services, and thus don’t run on FireOS. Naturally, all Google apps (Gmail, Google Drive, Google+, and so on) won’t run.”

battery life is terrible. they sent me a new one and its still bad

tivoboy

@mick yes, you can remove the phone from your account the prime 1 yr. sub will stay with your account. I’ve done this a couple times now.

just MHO but this is NOT a good phone. It’s really cumbersome to load apps, and you’re stuck with the amzn store unless you’re ready to side load. It seems like at least a two generation older iphone, it has some nice features, but nearly all can be easily replicated with an android or ios device (even firefly) so it doesn’t really offer anything of interest to me.

thankfully, they can easily be sold on ebay for 200-250$ without the prime sub attached.

to add the phone to my account would i have to open it – or i could still sell it as brand new?

tivoboy

@m, usually they come already attached to your account. You should probably open it, and de-activate the account if you are going to sell / resell

Anyone know if ATT will unlock a new iPhone 6? They have changed the ‘2 year plan’ into something different that requires that you now purchase the phone outright, and just make payments on it for 10 months or so. So technically, I own the phone and should have the privileges of full ownership.

@tivoboy: Is there no way to deactivate it from my account?

thingy

from amazon chat “Amazon:Yes, that is possible. You just need to buy the phone and marked it as a gift and the prime will apply to the purchaser account. :)”
