Where was this offer advertised, Dan?
October 22nd, 2009 at 12:20 pm
Thats in the heart of the diamond district, i’m sure they’re all gonna go to a bunch of yidden that would never spend $200 on a shirt…good marketing but they got the wrong location!!

October 22nd, 2009 at 1:08 pm

October 22nd, 2009 at 1:13 pm

October 22nd, 2009 at 4:32 pm
@nice:
What time did the line close today?
Did anyone get one?
October 22nd, 2009 at 4:39 pm
I was there at 1230, didn’t finish until 330!
But yes, I got one.
2 styles for women (slim fit, tailored)
3 styles for men (slim, evening/tux, and somethhing else)
Yes they are all white, but some styles have different fabric choices and also different cuff choices.
Definitely not a bad deal but I’m not sure I’d wait another 3 hours!!
October 22nd, 2009 at 4:55 pm
at 12pm I spoke with guy at the front of the line and he said he waited for 2 hours.
No line for free coffee or shoe shine, and free collar stays.
October 22nd, 2009 at 4:56 pm
The shirts are custom fit
October 22nd, 2009 at 5:41 pm
i came @ 330 and the line just closed! but atleast they are still giving them out. btw there not real custom shirts! dunno if ill come back. hey atleast i got something in banana republic which is having 25% off and is right next door
October 22nd, 2009 at 5:46 pm

October 22nd, 2009 at 5:46 pm

October 22nd, 2009 at 6:14 pm
Nice, I’ll be there tomorrow, so wave! By the way, what do you mean when you say 1000 shirts was a rumor?
October 22nd, 2009 at 6:32 pm
many OTHER sites repoorted that only 1000 shirts will be given out. was nervous that i would miss out. they mustve given 100000 shirts today.lol. i spoke to rep @ the event said the 1000 thing not true
October 22nd, 2009 at 8:59 pm
@Dan/Ctownbochur:
i was there real early at about 10. i got a shirt but it was stil a real long wait. these shirts retail at about 150 but they really dont seem too special.
October 22nd, 2009 at 10:04 pm
i spoke to the security guard that was letting people in at the front of the line. he said that they had a daily limit of about 1200 shirts, and as of 330, they only gave out a few hundred shirts.
October 22nd, 2009 at 10:25 pm
what did you mean that they arent really custom made shirts? also, if i show up just as they open, how long you guys think the wait will be?
thanks!
October 22nd, 2009 at 11:05 pm
few hundred? there was a 3 hr wait! not really custom meaning they dont make a shirt exactly for your measurments. its like ordering a shirt from paul fredrick or charles tyrwitt or brooks brother…
October 23rd, 2009 at 1:26 am
if i get there at 730 and wait will i b out of there by 830?
October 23rd, 2009 at 8:43 am
yea, because of the 3hr wait there was only a few hundred given out. i think the whole point of the wait is so that they won’t give out too many shirts too fast.
just passed the line on my way to work, it looks like its doubled from yesterday, even though it was only 830am. good luck getting shirts today!!
October 23rd, 2009 at 9:25 am
the line is “at capacity”.
anyone there?
update??
October 23rd, 2009 at 9:48 am
heard reports that its a 7! hour wait
October 23rd, 2009 at 11:09 am
i think im not gonna bother goin. maybe ill jst BUY s shirt!
October 23rd, 2009 at 11:35 am
I went at 8:45 this morning. I couldn’t wait for a shirt, but got a cup of coffee (no line) which was OK quality, but nothing special.
Then I waited about 10 minutes or so for a shoeshine. I also got free plastic collar stays (to make collar points sharp and straight).
I saw 4-5 guys with yarmulkas waiting on line for shirts.
The employees told me the line for shirts was closed, but might reopen if people leave. She said the last few people on the line would probably get their shirts at the end of the promo, 6 PM. She said the shirts retail for $150-170, depending on the fabric. They take your measurements, have you choose the fabric and style, and then mail it to you 10 days later (so it IS custom-made).
October 23rd, 2009 at 11:39 am
I am waiting in line right now. I got here about an hour ago and they said that the line had closed and they didn’t know when it would open up. By the time I got my coffee (there was no line for that), they had reopened the line and they said it would be 3 hours. It looks like it will end up being closer to 2-21/2.
I guess I had perfect timing, because there are some who said that they got here at 7;40 (I got here at 10:35) and they were not much ahead of me(the line was much bigger in the beggining).
I’ll keep you posted…
October 23rd, 2009 at 11:51 am
@Uri:
Thanks for the report with the actual price of the shirts, why do people keep saying it isn’t custom made when in fact it is?
@Waiting:
Nicely timed! Keep us posted with how far along you are in the line.
October 23rd, 2009 at 11:59 am
@nice: I thought we had a date?
October 23rd, 2009 at 12:20 pm
custom made shirt are custom made to ur exact measurements. these are not. i guess if a regular paul fredrick shirt is custom made then these are too. NOT REAL custom made
October 23rd, 2009 at 12:30 pm
@nice:
Did you read Uri’s post???
The tailors on hand take all of your measurements, then you choose your desired fabric and styles, and then they mail you the shirt in 10 days.
October 23rd, 2009 at 12:47 pm
@Dan/Ctownbochur:
I spoke to people there. TRUE they take your measurements- to get your collar and sleeve length- but that doesn’t make this a real custom shirt.
tell me if its a real custom shirt why do you only have 2 choices – slim or regular fit??
and you think they enough tailors to make 100000 shirts in 10 days?
im not saying this aint a great deal. however if the shirts that they are giving out are the same as the ones the employees are wearing (and yes they are wearing Thomas Pink shirts) then its not worth the bother. those shirts don’t looks good at all. i don’t care if say that its worth $150 or million bux
October 23rd, 2009 at 12:51 pm
heck they dont even call it “custom made” rather “custom-fit” . meaning they help you choose the size that best fits you
