Cuisinart ICE-21 Frozen Yogurt, Ice Cream And Sorbet Maker For $41.25 Shipped From Amazon

This is the lowest Amazon price for this machine this year.

You can buy soft serve mix (In the past I’ve picked that up from Klein’s in Boro Park where they sell a gallon that will make several dozens of servings of Ice Cream in Vanilla and Chocolate in sugar free, fat free, or regular for $12. I even checked through a frozen case of 4 back home to Cleveland without any problems) and all you need to do is pour it in for great ice cream at a fraction of the price of going to the store. Then you can start getting creative if you want. We made Snickerdoodle by mixing in cinnamon cookie dough and Peanut Butter Rocky Road by using the mix and then adding in Peanut Butter, Chocolate Chips, Marshmallows, and Peanuts!

Or of course you can just follow any Ice Cream recipe you find online.

I’ve been using this for years and DDF’ers love the machine too.

-New mixing paddle makes frozen desserts in 20 minutes or less
-Large capacity makes up to 1-1/2-quarts
-Double insulated freezer bowl eliminates the need for ice
-Easy lock transparent lid with large spout makes adding ingredients simple and mess free

@Meh:

FYI – I bought one of these and take it during Pesach – makes a great treat and you don’t get sick of it year round.

Dan, you’re kidding right? You buy an ice cream maker and fill it with store-bought mix? Making the custard batter for ice cream is too simple to justify that, plus you choose what goes in.

Dan

@Shmuel:
Recipe?

How many would you like? Heres a basic recipe: Whisk 3/4 cup sugar into 2-3eggs or 5-6 egg yolks. Add 3 cups of dairy (heavy cream and milk; I use 1 or 2 cups heavy cream depending on how rich i want it), a heavy pinch of salt and your flavoring (extract. If you want to use whole flavoring like ground coffee or whole vanilla bean, you will have to heat the milk and steep the flavoring for about half hour). Chill completely. The colder the mix, the quicker it will freeze which makes a smoother ice cream.
My favorite recipe is this one:
http://books.google.com/books?id=IUrMTywPNDUC&pg=PA332&lpg=PA332&dq=ruhlman+caramel+ice+cream&source=bl&ots=4uJ2iu9-RU&sig=uOqcmEfmADOn59x9x40p5wMaD5M&hl=en&sa=X&ei=SzpTU6WgNdPNsQTZm4Ig&ved=0CFEQ6AEwBA#v=onepage&q=ruhlman%20caramel%20ice%20cream&f=false

My second favorite, believe it or not, is Basil Ice cream, which is surprisingly delicious. Also, you can buy this book:
http://www.amazon.com/Jerrys-Homemade-Cream-Dessert-Book/dp/0894803123/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1415890622&sr=8-1&keywords=ben+and+jerrys
And if you search for ben and jerry’s ice cream recipes or recipes from Alton brown, you will find out much more.

Any chance that the plug on it says 110-220 (or 240) volt, 50-60 hz, like computers and such not all do these days.
Then we could use it in Israel!
