this is the cheapest option i have seen to iceland since we flew via iceland air in 2000 to london. Stupidly, we did not take advantage of the free stop over.

Assigned seating is an optional purchase right? If I didn’t pay for seating, will I just get assigned free seats upon boarding?

Connect in osl to tlv on Norwegian. It looks like osl is the hub for international ULCC.

@Dan you are the best. I live in Boston so this afternoon I picked up my Target Prepaid Red and now this! Thanks to you, my friends and I are going to Iceland for 8 days in April. The flights are booked and now we just need to figure out what to do and where to stay. I have decent number of Chase rewards point so I hope to use them to say some nice. Any recommendations on how to use my reward points on hotels?

yo

@Dan: Nice! Where are you going? We are waiting for a trip report.

Coincidentally I just booked my family to Iceland for next June. We’re combining it with an award trip to “Europe,” and then taking cheap ($50) Easyjet flights to Iceland.

I did look into flying Wow from mainland Europe to Iceland. The baggage fee was a real turnoff. Realistically, you can’t travel to Europe with only 11 lbs — your suitcase will weigh almost that much. So you have to add another $39 each way (maybe if you’re a family, you can pool the baggage somehow).

Overall, I suspect this is going to be a rather unpleasant way to cross the Pond. But for $300, it might not be a bad option. If you have ff miles, though, THAT is probably still your best option.

HELP

how can i cancel

chaya

@jacky:

Norwegian airlines has very cheap flight from CPH-TLV and sometimes London-TLV.

Cranberry

Nothing wrong with calling BWI Washington DC. What do you think the W stands for? And it’s the same travel time from downtown DC as IAD.

Dan

@blue:
Did you try calling?

@Dan:
Federal law requires a 24 hour cancellation policy, call them.

They also confirmed it on Twitter: https://twitter.com/wow_air/status/525077708049747968

@HELP:
You can post a comment here…or you can try calling them…

@Cranberry:
Who said there was anything wrong?

Yaakov

Called them, i cancelled, but it cost $20.40 “Service Fee”

Jeremy Kenter

I JUST CALLED AND CANCELLED WITHIN 24 HOURS

I ALSO CHANGED A NAME ON A FRIENDS RESERVATION WITHIN 24 HOURS FOR FREE!

Iceland and Greenland are two countries that are often confused. Beware! That’s a mistake you don’t want to be making. The differences between the two, in every respects, are extreme.

Avi

B” H” I was able to book Boston – Copenhagen for April 21 return on 28th ($228). It gives me plenty of time to see what there’s to do there, and in terms of kashrut & davening. I’ll appreciate any input regarding the city itself as I plan to stay put there for a week.
What can I possibly carry with me on board for a week that weights 11 lbs? I’ve never done this like this – I’m too upset to pay either $37 for additional weight or $68 for a hold baggage. Any suggestions?

srap

@Avi: Wear a coat with a looooot of pockets!

Anonymous

@srap: and ??? A men’s coat has usually 3 pockets, what can you possibly put in 3 pockets?

Chris Fayweather

Avi,

Wear a lot of clothes in multiple layers (i.e. 4 shirts, 3 pants, 7 pair of socks etc.)!

kachnik

I have a special Patagonia coat for traveling, it has HUGE inner pockets that can fit a laptop etc + 4 more on the outside. Holds 20kg. Have never paid for carryon or baggage even on easyjet and spirit

Chris Fayweather

Kachnik, What a great idea! Can you wear 3 of those Patagonia coats at once?
