Originally posted on 01/01/09:

S.B.S. previously made an excellent 8 page PDF examining every way of getting to Israel via Starpoints.

In that article he pointed ways of getting to Israel for 40,000 Starpoints or less (Via transferring Starpoints to JAL, British Airways, LAN, or Flying Blue)

The promo award cost between North America and “Europe” in flying blue miles is:
Coach: 12,500 miles one way, 25,000 miles round trip.
Business: 25,000 miles one-way, 50,000 miles round trip.
Business class is only available on KLM.

Valid North American cities for origin or destination on Air France:
-Atlanta
-Houston
-Montreal

Valid North American cities for origin or destination on KLM:
-Atlanta
-Calgary
-Dallas
-NYC/JFK

This is how Flying Blue defines Europe:
Europe 1: Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Netherlands, and Switzerland
Europe 2: Austria, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Malta, Norway, Portugal, Spain, and Sweden
Europe 3: Albania, Algeria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Libya, Latvia, Lithuania, Morocco, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Western Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Tunisia, Ukraine, and Yugoslavia

As Flying Blue considers Israel to be part of Europe (zone 3), it qualifies as a valid origin or destination.

The promo awards can only be flown with KLM via Amsterdam or with Air France via Paris, they are not valid on Skyteam partners such as Continental or Delta (although nonstop travel to Israel on those carriers is allowed on the regular 40,000 Starpoints/50,000 Flying Blue miles award to Europe zone 3 in coach or 80,000 flying blue miles in business.)

Flying Blue Promo Awards Linky (Select Air France/United States/English/Enter Website and then return here and click on this link again)

Unfortunately, you cannot search online for mileage availability on Flying Blue unless you have the required miles in your account.

A stopover in Amsterdam or Paris is allowed and will make finding mileage availability easier.

The best bet for checking availability will be by calling Flying Blue at 1-800-375-8723

You write that you can get 30,000 more starpoints after spending $15,000, I think you only get 15,000. Also, I ordered that card through a link off your website, but they only gave me a $2000 limit, how can I get the 15,000 points in six months that way? Can I transfer a credit limit from the amex blue to my starwood?

Herman

The system is unable to respond

Crunch

Anyone have any idea what this is about:

Sprint Early Termination Class Action

david

you can spend the limit then pay it then spend it again in the same month

men

I called flying blue and they were extremely unhelpful.
I tried checking the availability and could not get anywhere.
Is there someone else to speak with about this promotion or some easier way to get it?

AsherO

@Crunch:

It looks like if the court approves it I’ll be eligible for $35 for each of my sprint lines since I considered terminating my account but did not due to the ETF…

yaacov

They told me that surcharges taxes and airport fees equal like 400$ for a flight to moscow

@Leo:
When you spend $15,000 on a new Starwood card you will have 40,000 Starpoints.
10K for signing up.
15K for the base spending
15K for the threshold bonus.

And David has told you in the comments how to get around your credit limit.

They told me it takes up to 30 days to transfer the starwoods points to flying blue. Is that true?

Meir

The 50% off promotion of flying blue is only valid for travel departing from Europe.

JJ

Beware…dont tranfer points so fast. There were no available dates as of yesterday froom NYC to TLV…at all

Aviva

hi, thanks, I really want to leave in a week (and it’s for mitzvah purposes!!) 😀

is there any way to transfer Northwest/Delta miles to Flying Blue? I have so many different mileage amounts accrued on so many different airlines, how can I conglomerate them? any help you can give is severely appreciated, I wanna leave the 24 of August…

Aviva

I have all this mileage, so why use up my Starpoints if I can add it all up? Please let me know if it’s even possible.

Pesha

I’ve dealt with them extensivly.

You’ll never find an available seat to TA using any promotion city.

I’ve accomplished it and have gone many times.

Because I spent 10s of hours on this, I’m offering the “secret” for a fee. I’m iy”H taking some children with me to EY for Sukkos for 12500 miles one way!!!

You must also know, regardless, they charge tax and because it’s through Europe, it’s quite a bit.

If you disire my services, I’ll give you the entire rundown.

P

Chaim

C’mon Pesha.

Did Dan charge you for telling you about this deal?
Why not help your fellow yidden out by telling us how to get to EY for Sukkos for 12500 miles?

Surely G-d will pay you back with a sweet successful new year for helping others out!

Pesha

Dear Chaim,

Part of my job that cost me time, effort and funds is arranging this. Hence, it’s not something you can do. You’ll need me to do it for you and there are no guarantees. However, I’ve done it over the last two years.

Secondly, Flying Blue knows me through my extensive correspondance.

For me to do it for you will be hopurs of work which I need to be compensated for.

I hope you understand.

I also reiterate that even I’m succesful in getting you the seat, it’s at this time only one-way because the promotion ends Sept 30 and it’ll cost you close to $200 in taxes ONE-way.

I won’t respond more unless you desire my services.

JJ

Pesha…advertise somewhere else

dan dan

pesha – where can I reach u?

Pesha

dan dan, you can only reach me in this forum.

I’ve already explained.

To respond to Chaim, just prove to them that there is no availbility on-line and hopefully they’ll honor your request.

For me to do it, takes lots of time, expertise, etc. That’s part of our fee-based services.

I wasn’t advertising just being helpful. If you feel otherwise, don’t publish my remarks.

Pesha

dan dan

pesha no problem I need your help even with a fee where can I get in touch with u?

pesha

tell me what you need and i’ll tell you whether i can help

gershon

i have 115000 spg points and i want to fly to KPB for rosh hashuna from nyc

dan dan

pesha – me too kbp

pesha

I only deal with EY.
