Yikes! I’ve never done this before. Bought three – hope I can turn it around and make a profit. The one that I saw on Ebay has 5 days left, 10 bids already and is up to $536.00. Can’t imagine it won’t go for more – and its not even new! Hope this is a good sign.

GUYS!
Before you go any farther, I’d like to point out that PCUniverse.com recently changed owners. Price mistakes like this can happen because they adjust everything to slow business during the transition, and then back again when done.
What you may not know, however, is that the new owner is a frum Yid from NY. So, unlike the faceless corporations like Buy.com or Amazon, you may be directly effecting someone’s parnossa by forcing them to honor this price mistake.
Just something to think about.

UPDATE:
I just got a email from buy.com that they cancelled this order!!!!
I feel that the ones that ordered a large quantity of camcorders are at fault for this cancelation and if everybody would of ordered a normal quantity like me (1 piece) then this wouldn’t of happened.
So please, dansdeals fans please use common sense next time when such an offer comes up.
“Dan, Keep up your good work”
April 28th, 2009 at 12:33 pm

April 28th, 2009 at 1:44 pm

April 28th, 2009 at 2:05 pm

April 28th, 2009 at 2:10 pm
ours didnt get cancelled yet either.
April 28th, 2009 at 3:48 pm
Couldn’t everyone be happy with just one? It was a deal posted by Dan not an opportunity to get greedy and take advantage of a price mistake! I thought some of you guys were “actually” religious??????????????
April 28th, 2009 at 3:55 pm
Please let me retort a bit more……..let’s see it’s not ok to shop on Shabbos because Hashem said so but it’s ok to take advantage of a retailer who made an obvious price mistake? Am I missing something here? Whatever happened to “be happy with what you have”? I guess that only applies when you’re not trying to scam a buck? I read all the prior posts and you guys need to take a look in the mirror………..and not be such hypocrites!!!!!!!!!!!!
April 28th, 2009 at 4:21 pm
Just got an email with refund information.
No use calling— they are sticking up for themselves….
8. No Responsibility To Sell Mispriced Products Or Services. Buy.com shall have the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for products and/or services listed at an incorrect price, rebate or refund, or containing any other incorrect information or typographical errors. Buy.com shall have the right to refuse or cancel any such orders whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit card charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is canceled, Buy.com shall immediately issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the charge.
Next time, you brooklyn machers shouldn’t look to make a years salary on something like this because the website will obviously raise red flags when someone is ordering 100 cameras!!!
1 or 2 is plenty….
April 28th, 2009 at 4:52 pm
GOOD JOB PEOPLE!!!
April 28th, 2009 at 5:14 pm
I spoke with the company that was selling this product (pc universe), and they said they don’t even carry the camera. They said the SKU # got mixed up and if the prder would have gone through we all would have been shipped a scanner. Now I only ordered one, but i could imagine the look on some of your faces if 100 scanners would have showed up at your door. Just be happy it didn’t happen because then there would have been a big hassle to return them, including paying for return shipping!
April 28th, 2009 at 5:20 pm
@avir r:
If a company ships the wrong item why would you have to pay for return shipping???
April 28th, 2009 at 6:42 pm
ours got cancelled too. oh well!
April 28th, 2009 at 7:41 pm
yh they cancelled my order!
April 28th, 2009 at 9:34 pm
I was the one who told Dan about this deal. Yeh, they canceled the order, without telling me any reason why, I just got an email “confirming” that the order is canceled.
Sucks.
Anyway, thanks for posting the deals Dan!

Oh well good thing I didnt spend my profits yet! I had a feeling it was to good to be true! The last time I got a price mistake I only made $5,600 I got to be happy with what I get.
April 29th, 2009 at 1:23 pm
I cant believe you guys actually thought that they would send a discontinued camcorder and lose 1000$ on each one……
April 30th, 2009 at 11:43 pm
Real price is couple of hundred dollars more than Amazon.
May 1st, 2009 at 3:53 pm
Did all you guys miss the part above about PC Universe being owned by a frum Yid now?
Seriously, I’m shocked that so many of you seem bummed the order was cancelled!
May 6th, 2009 at 3:05 pm
Hey all you guys out there who want to profit this way.
Just try to i magine it happening to you- if you had a business.
I know this is hard because, judging from the responses- you are all a bunch of leeches on society.
remeber – there is such a thing as ethics.
