Air France Flying Blue Award Search (Login required to search for award flights)

Flying Blue is the joint program of SkyTeam member Air France and KLM.
They consider Tel Aviv to be part of Europe which can make for some decent deals.

They do charge fuel surcharges on their own flights but not on Delta flights. However availability is much better on their own flights than on Delta flights. They normally charge 25,000 miles each way in coach and 62,500 miles in business to Israel but they run rotating promo awards valid for select cities.  Fuel surcharges in business are much more than in coach.

Currently for North America that includes coach flights from Dallas and business flights from Montreal.  Travel is valid in either direction and is valid for one-way or round-trip travel.

You need to book the current promo awards by 07/31 and travel between 09/01 and 10/31.

In some cases it may make sense to use BA Avios to get to Dallas or Montreal.

You can transfer AMEX points to Flying Blue at a 1K:1K ratio or Starpoints to Flying Blue at a 20K:25K ratio.

You can see the miles and fees for one-way tickets in the images below:

What is the best way to get flying blue miles

samuel

Any way to show nonstop?

A Canadian

How good is their business class YUL-TLV-YUL?

Dovid

Is this 32K in each direction or 32k total round rrip?

Hfishman

There is no direct flights between Montreal and TLV.
Additionally, the stop is usually a long one.
You must also add $330 in taxes and fees for each way.

Bottom line = If you don’t live in Montreal you must find a flight to Montreal which will cost money or points or both and will take (a lot of)time. Then you must fly to Paris or Amsterdam waste more time then take your 3rd flight to Tel Aviv.

You Probably can’t leave later than Tuesday (you are also losing 7 hours by the different time zones).

For a round trip in business through Montreal it will cost you a minimum of 80,000 points and almost $700. Additionally It will Probably take you more than 24 hrs to get there.

It is Probably more worth it to fly direct from JFK in economy and pay 25,000 points and $25. Of course this is only if you can still find availability.

I have delta miles. How would I book using flying blue? Is there a way to transfer all my miles from delta to this program?

Eli

@Aaron: “You can transfer AMEX points to Flying Blue at a 1K:1K ratio or Starpoints to Flying Blue at a 20K:25K ratio”

Eli

@Dovid: the miles/tax on the chart is 1 way

Eli

@Hfishman: since when is a stop over a “waist of time”?! I love stopping over in Europe. Get to tour Europe a lil bit, then continue on

Eli

@Hfishman: O, and do you know math??!! 31,250 +31,250 = 62,500 AND NOT “For a round trip in business through Montreal it will cost you a minimum of 80,000 points”.. Wrong again!

joe

@A CANADIAN : THE BUSINESS CLASS FROM MONTREAL IS ONLY TO PARIS,FROM PARIS TO TLV ITS COACH SEATS

Eek

@eli hfishman is right because you are forgetting the mileage you need to spend to get to and from montreal

Kattrina

@danny:
i also have 100k DELTA-AMEX miles, i would love to know if i can transfer it to FLYING-BLUE

Dan

@Kattrina:
You can’t.

Osborne Greene

In typical Montreal fashion, YUL is a backwoods shanty airport. Don’t expect to make quick connections.

Hfishman

@Eli: How will you get to Montreal?

Hfishman

@Eli: For most People who live busy lives or have to travel with family it’s a waist of time. I don’t know your status perhaps it works out for you.

jp

“WASTE of time,” you people, not “waist of time!”

I’m trying to find an award coach ticket in August JFK-TLV & logged in with Flying BLue to Air France’s site . I checked the box for “my dates are flexible”, but the following error msg comes up: “No flight is available. Please, modify your travel dates or class of travel.”

cm

Could you walk me through transfer transferring my amex to flying blue?

Also, can you use Delta miles for flying blue?

Thank you!

Hfishman

@cm: As Dan responded before, you can’t transfer Delta miles to Flyingblue.

To transfer Amex points to Flyingblue just call the number in the back of your card and have your Flyingblue account number ready.

david

Do you know if membership reward transfers only to the same exact flying blue account holder or they are not so particular about it and i could transfer some membership rewards to my brothers flying blue?

Gail

Air France and Flying Blue are the worst airlines and mileage program. Not worth at any mileage point. Just came back from Paris on AF and have one disaster after another.
Dan, what’s best way to milk them for all the problems they caused with seats, meals, luggage etc

I just came back from israel via air france – besides for getting bumped and screwed by delta , the flights were nice, but extremely tight legroom (less then spirit airlines)- Food, service were all good
