Small print in the add states “Award travel seats are limited and may not be available on all flights or in all markets. SkyMiles must be redeemed by September 30, 2008.”
I don’t get it. 50,000 miles for doing nothing but registering? What am I missing? I’m not complaining here but I have to agree with the previous poster. There’s got to be a catch here somewhere. But I’ll bite and see what happens…
Although Delta/Avis have been throwing around Skymiles like their hot potatoes, giving 9,999 Bonus Skymiles for an Avis Rental 3 times for a total of 30,000 & also currently you cant get 5,000 Bonus Skymiles from Avis for a 4 Day rental, I find it hard to believe they are dishing out 50K just “because”… I have yet to hear of anyone that has actually received the full 50K Skymiles for this promotion…
Has Anyone Successfully Received 50,000 Skymiles From AVIS FIRST????
I called Avis and the rep was aware of the promotion but said you must rent a car and than you get some sort of coupon for the miles, but I don’t know all the details of how it works.
It’s after the fact now but anyway… Apparently this is a targeted promotion, meaning you must receive a personal offer via snail mail or email to get the miles. That said, usually targeted promotions have a place to input a special code for the promotion but this link/form didn’t require any code. But that may be because you’re wizard number will tell Avis all they need to know. You have to be an Avis First member and not just have a generic wizard number. But anyway, who knows. Maybe we’ll get lucky…

how can you redeem the points by the 9/30 expiration if they take 6-8 weeks to be delivered?
