American Express is always running fantastic promotions. Along with their incredible purchase protections it makes having their cards quite valuable.
Of course the big one is Small Business Saturday. While the exact details of this year’s promotion have yet to be announced the odds are strong that it will be the same as it has been for the past 3 years where you can spend $25 on each of your cards for free at any small business. It has even worked on authorized user cards which are free with cards like the Starwood Preferred Guest® Credit Card from American Express or the Gold Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express.
Promotions can be found on lots of social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Foursquare, but they’re also available when you just login to your American Express account.
For example below is what I see right now on my Starwood card. Just click on the card and then click on “Offers for you.”
For example ending today is a DSW offer for $50 back on $199+ online purchases. You should be able to save that offer and then buy a $199 DSW eGift card that can be used in-store or online in the future. Within a week you’ll get a $50 credit on your bill.

Also up on top in a banner they lately seem to have different things in there. That’s where I saw that I was eligible to upgrade to Platinum and receive 50k points.
Note, that those shopping offers are one per account not per card.

Don’t think u could buy the gift cards online bec u pay through paypal and on the Amex site it says paypal transactions are excluded

Hi Dan, 2 things. Perhaps u can tell me how to get a 50,000 point upgrade( as Ryan states) from the gold business to gold platinum, as I only received 25,000 points. Also, a big plus of the platinum card is the Centurion lounge. I was in the lounge tonight in Las Vegas. It’s excellent.

hi Ive been reading the forums for about a year religiopusly trying to learn all the tricks and terminology ect. I was finally ready to earn some miles and I did my first 3bm with Chase applying for a british airway card, sapphire card, and united card last week. I was instantly approved for united for 20k credit line but declined for the other two. I called reconsideration and they were able to move part of the united line to either of the other cards to get it approved but said that chase has a max 2 card per 30 day sign up guideline. If this is the case, how is it possible to do a 3bm with Chase??? Do I HUCA or is this a set in stone guideline?
