you once wrote that Costco does not charge the 5% non-member surcharge on Costco Cash cards, I just called and they said they do, so can you please clarify?

Starwood Fan:
Close down all of your AMEX accounts ASAP!
After a few months you wont have any problems applying again and getting more AMEX cards.
Costco:
They definitely don’t charge any surcharge to use the cash cards in stores.

I shop with costco gift cards. When they ring me up for lets say $150, i give $100 cash, and have them put the balance on the gift card (that my friend buys for me). This extends the life of the card.
Dan, how do i get the free necklace at O-mail. I clicked on the ad, but there was no mention of a free gift.

Dan, why are you allowing the ElAl ad to state $649 plus $318 tax? Why not be straightforward and say the fare is $967? I hate the whole tax thing so much that I stopped shopping at airline comparison sites that don’t show the tax upfront and try to get you with showing lower fares.
February 4th, 2008 at 4:32 pm
nice comment. however this is the way to market something, i dont think any company will advertize their product with a price including tax.
February 4th, 2008 at 8:26 pm
Yes but when it comes to airline tickets, people want to know the bottom line price. I agree that with your average item like an ipod, no one is gonna advertise tax because everyone expects it to cost a few dollars more and tax is always different based on the state, but with airline tickets that is not true. If it was a small state tax it’s one thing, but it’s not. Why advertise flights at $649 when really they are $967 (over $300 more!)?? You’re just gonna have aggravated ppl saying “But I saw it advertised for much cheaper!”

dan can i still cancel sprint with the loophole?

you haven’t posted about the new cost-cutting measure that UNITED has copied from SPIRIT. Charging 25 bucks for a second bag.
I remember the whiners on your blog when SPIRIT started charging 10 bucks for a second bag.
let’s hear them now…
