I’m also seeing the price discrepancy. I called them up they said there’s an “issue” with the pricing, and the higher price is correct. It’s obvious that they just jacked it up on the product page (which can be done manually and immediately). If you shop around online you’ll see that the lower prices are really what it should be – not so erlich, huh?

If u go to aj madison site and u put in a weber q300 it comes up at $629 (highly overpriced) but when u go to the actual page the price is $349.

I’m in the Brooklyn store right now. They just told someone on the phone that Weber pricing is protected by the manufacturer, hence excluded from the living social deal…

JUST TRIED AND IT DID NOT WORK FOR THE WEBER BUT DID WORK FOR OTHER COMPANY GRILLS, WHEN I CALLED AJ MADISON THEY ADVISED THAT WEBER’S PRICE IS COMPANY BASED AND THEREFORE CANNOT BE REDEEMED WITH LIVING SOCIAL!!

Paid $250+40 for the item and then cost of shipping. Great deal!!

I bought the $100 deal, I try to redeem it for a microwave of $204 but it doesn’t work.
It only works when I try to purchase an item of $440+
Why is that?

With the $100 for $200 Deal can i buy something which costs a bit more than $200 and pay the rest in cash?

Check the FAQ first. It looks like there’s a 15-30% restocking fee on returns and they negate the free shipping if you return something.

When i hit apply after i enter the code from living social it dosent discount the price, i went until the final checkout page and the full total was still showing, im trying to purchase a GE microwave.
Am i doing something wrong?

A (#48) why are you being that way… Many of us have gotten things at great pricing, Have you even bought the coupon and why run to BBB??? What was the issue you had? Anyone else having issues or is A just bad mouthing a company thats not giving him Free stuff

would work out with AJ, no reason to file a complaint, I dont think they are dishonest. I do think coupon says kitchen appliances, and people try to bypass and then have complaints. Follow the rules, guys!

@Al: i purchased a coupon for the sole purchase of a weber grill which the did not exclude it in the fine print then all of a sudden they start excluding diffrent items making diffrent reasons for each item that is unfair and dishonest i am not saying go to bbb but they wasted alot of my time (doing research which grill to get)and i am very dissatisfied

Because the $100 deal only works for purchases above $250.
Which is absolute dishonest.
When they advertise $100 off $200 they have to honor what they promise, not limit it to orders of over $250

I don’t understand why people are defending AJ Madison. If the coupon has no exclusions then it should be honored. Otherwise it is bait and switch. You can get stuck with something you don’t want.

@yo: If you still want this deal here is what you have to do: Sign up for Living Social Plus and pay the $20. You will get $25 of Living Social Bucks anyways. Then you need to call up Living Social and ask them to put the deal through for you. I was able to do this as well as 2 other people. I hope it works for you as well.

@EV: FYI- the agent I spoke to was Kristyn in case that helps at all. She had a supervisor walk her through on how to do it.

wowowowowowow i just got ups tracing number from aj madison for a miele vacuum i paid in total 211.04 !! its never on speciala a real bargain !! so i guess they will not cancel the orders on miele

Not a great way to get future business especially for a company that gets most of its business online.

My coupon isnt working anymore. This is disgusting. I dont think I will ever buy anything from them. If they would have let the deal through then they would have gotten a loyal appreciative customer who would probably spend a lot more money on them in the future. Who knows how many people got turned off because of this deal.

AJ told me LS cancelled the deal….very upsetting

just received an email from living social saying AJ MAdison isnt accepting the deal anymore and will refund the full amount and then living social will give 5 deal bucks for the inconvenience,
oh well what can we expect from them, they were trying to get exposure outside of nyc and but most of the people buying were from nyc or lakewood didnt have the desired effect

AJ Madison is so shady! I purchased the Living Social deal and paid for a refrigerator…..that’s a kitchen appliance, hello!

I checked to see when my delivery would be scheduled and noticed my order was cancelled. No email, no phone call…they just cancelled it. After talking to several rude employees in customer service I was finally told “The Truth.” AJ Madison/Living Social did not think to make a list of excluded items, so they punked out and are trying to back out of the deal. Not cool, nor smart. I see this as a major problem since over 1100 paid for this deal and AJ Madison was posting about the deal on Facebook! I can’t believe they are foolish enough to backout now for fear of going broke. The bad publicity alone will destroy AJ Madison. Offering those of us that were ripped off free shipping and 5% off as a compromise is a slap in the face!

@living aj: At least you got an email! Other companies that have had similar marketing snafus have had the business sense to try and honor the deal. AJ Madison’s approach was foolish and just down right rude!

I just got the same email from LS. Now I am on hold with AJ making a scene as I purchased them fair and square. There is no way they did not realize what they were offering with the LS deal. They should learn something from El Al about mis-pricing.

AJ Madison deleted all of the complaints on their Facebook page. I suggest others file a complaint with the better business bureau in New York.

For Living Social to hold everyone’s money for over a week is also not cool. Someone needs to be held accountable for such a large fraud against consumers.
