Tried in Pallisades Mall, I tried getting a digital pic frame for $80 and a camera case for $30. They said that it’s only for non sale items which means it can’t have a yellow price tag. I asked the person behind the counter if there’s a single item in the store that’s not “on sale” they said prob not. Anyway I asked what the non-sale price of the digital pic frame is, they said $100 so I asked if I can get it on the non-sales price and apply the coupon, they said no :(

My wife went to BB in Riverdale, NJ at 5 PM, she couldn’t buy Amazon gift cards (they said no gift cards would work), but she was able to use the coupon to buy a DSLR lens, even though the customer service cashier didn’t think it would work since it was “one of the exclusions”. Luckily it did.

The Dallas BestBuy off of 75 at Park Lane would not permit amazon kindle purchases, but they did honor the coupon for a regular purchase of $100 or more, but it required a manager to come over to approve.

on gift cards and cash register would not accept them.

Well YMMV is often the case when it’s really better than they intended.

in San Antonio TX, they had a correction notice up that required $100 single item purchase, but no mention of a gift card. “But, we meant to exclude gift card”. They made up rules as they went along, so I just left and I am complaining to CS on their website right now

I don’t wish to post the following to the Best Buy Facebook page using my Facebook account because I carefully curate my Facebook presence for affiliation reasons; but I sent it via private message to Mastercard’s presence on Facebook. Would somebody who agrees with the gist of what I said post it to the Best Buy Facebook page without attributing it to me?

    ———-

    Dear Mastercard social media personnel,

Please escalate to corporate management the fiasco which Best Buy has created by issuing a coupon for $50 off $100 in purchases with a Mastercard with clearly listed product inclusions and exclusions valid 1/21 to 1/27, and then in a single day (1/21), re-issuing many changes to the terms & conditions (including but not limited to dates of validity, products included, products excluded, requirement of a single item priced at or over $100 instead of a total transaction at or over $100) and opening up accusations of false advertising and bait and switch.

The original coupon can be found at:
    http://image.emailinfo2.bestbuy.com/lib/fef41d77766c04/m/43/13729-2_MasterCardPromo_Coupon_final.pdf

I recognize that the Best Buy coupon asserts that Mastercard is not the sponsor of this promotion nor does Mastercard have liability, but what Mastercard DOES have and cannot disclaim is the memory of thousands of customers subject to miserable customer service experiences thanks to Best Buy employees and store managers handling this fiasco from Best Buy corporate marketing as best they can but because corporate has provided such confusing and poor guidance, leaving everybody confused and angry.

As a corporation, I expect that you carefully manage your brand image. Your brand has gotten dragged through the mud through this incident.

    - Sincerely, a Mastercard customer who is looking at his other credit cards with the pretty Visa logo

Perhaps Mastercard can provide Best Buy some assistance in promotional error recovery crisis management.

One more exclusion they through into the mix (at least when I tried to make a purchase) – No sale items. I spent 40min at my local store trying to make a purchase, and came to the checkout/counter no less than 4 times. Each time I tried to make a purchase, they made up a new exclusion. Some of their new exclusions were included in their “correction sign” in the store, but most of them weren’t, and the manager seemed to just be making them up as he went along. It’s disgraceful how they handled this, and I would say that I’m not going to shop at Best Buy anymore, but I never would have regardless.

No. Best buy (being terrible with customer service as always) has a very strict return policy if u have no receipt they will not take if back period. If u give them the receipt they will only give u back what u paid and put that on your MasterCard.
